Sometimes it is hard to find a good headline for the match report, but then someone does or says something extraordinary or funny - and the title writes itself. This week a good quote from Puntah, which we will come to later.

Speaking of quotes, George told me what made him call Harretons goalkeeper a "fat bastard" last week. Harretons number 1 apparently said he would like to engage in intimate activity with George's wife. Not that George has a wife yet, but I can understand why that annoyed him. Never heard anything like it tbh, but maybe I live a sheltered life.

The game itself - we welcomed back Stefano from training in Plymouth and he went centre-midfield with George up top. We fielded a few oldies (Simon - 63, Tys - 58, Conrad - 56, Hoof 54, Rich - 49) and were definitely facing a younger oppo, but the energy Stef and George gave us definitely helped us to compete.

We went quite direct and a great cross from Chris steered across the keeper's path for 1-0 to us. A bit of pressure from the oppo and a long range equaliser, not too long after, unfortunately.

Then the game settled a bit. They were passing nicely through the midfield, but not especially dangerous up top, although Tyson did have to be on his toes still. We were a bit more direct but they were dealing with that defensively quite well, cutting out a lot of long balls.

Sterling efforts from the whole team, but probably in particular Conrad and Sam were kept busy at the back.

So no goals after the first 15 minutes or so, not for want of trying on either side. An entertaining draw that was hard work. Fair result, I would say.

We did have a chance to win it. George pressuring the keeper and winning a ball he had no right to win ("5% of people would have won the ball off the keeper there") but contriving to hit the post when presented with an open goal and then snatching at the 2nd chance rebound ("but 90% would have scored").

Knowing us, we would have contrived to concede an equaliser again, even if he had scored.

Nice oppo. We were chatting with one of the subs about getting a solid challenge from Sam and he admitted that it was the sort of challenge he makes himself. And a few down the Latch later as well, I noticed.

MotM - Sam.

Luke - 1/3 for the oppo
