Southpark Reigate F.C 5 vs 1 Unique FC U14

Evening boys,

Mixed emotions today as I thought against a good outfit we saw things today that are extremely promising in possession & to concede 3 goals in the final period of the game really does flatter the opposition.

We gave a goal away after a minute playing out that put us on the back foot but after that initial period I thought we played some really good football.

Jude command your box, we spoke after the 2nd quarter about your 6 yard box being YOURS, I felt you and Oscar set us off playing well thought, Oscar what a save in the first quarter!

We created + 1s at the back with Thomas and George travelling in with the ball & again in midfield with + 1s Bailey/Leon both finding clever pockets of space and driving with the ball.

We deservedly got back in the game with a wonderful timed run from Kai with Lemar on hand to follow-up after a wonderful pass from David & I felt for the next 50 mins it was a very even game with both teams moving it well and creating chances.

Chaps I don’t want to dwell on the moment that turnt the game on its head, Lemar clean through, it’s a penalty and a red card we know that followed by a goal that hits the post that’s given, It’s very easy to say stay composed, I get it, it’s incredibly frustrating BUT we capitulated in the last 10 mins and gave a very flattering score line.

BUT we come away with lots of positives heading into tomorrow.

As much as we want to dominate the ball which by the way I felt we did for long periods at times, let’s also not turn down the one into Lemar where we can slide him and get him in foot races I felt at times we were a little too passive and could have gone forward quicker.

Kai I thought your understanding out of possession was excellent, when to jump, when to soften off, when to set a press, your game understanding has really improved and it’s pleasing to see as your coach.
