Home league match

Afternoon chaps,

Please find attached my thoughts on Sundays game, player data is available on your athlete’s account & I’ve attached the VEO of the game for you to watch ahead of training tomorrow ahead of arguably our biggest game of the season Sunday!

Chaps after watching the VEO back there is so many things In the game I am happy with and after winning our second league on the bounce we are still to build some momentum ahead of Sundays game in the Kent County Cup against Bromley.

I thought we started the game on the front foot on Sunday & we very quickly recognised we could lock Erith in for long periods, they had a kamikaze approach to playing out from the back & I lost count of how many times we won the ball so high up the pitch, we asked the full backs to lock on to the wingers & they had no way out, as I stressed at half time though, against better opposition we won’t be able to adopt that approach but on Sunday it worked brilliantly so well done to everyone for taking on board that information.

The three goals we scored in the first half were excellent, Leon with a neat finish, Bailey with a wonderful cross for the second & Max with some outstanding play to create a tap in for Bailey at the back post!

The balance of the team looked really good & playing Kai & Bailey on there natural side gave us a different dynamic to previous weeks, well done lads!

My only negative lads is it could have been 10-0 at half time, we created some wonderful chances but must be ruthless all over the pitch, that’s corners, long throws, scrambles in the box, we need killers who will do everything to put the ball in the back of the net, rest assured on Sunday we won’t be able to pass up that many chances without it coming back to bite us!

The second half I felt we started a little lethargic & they got a goal back which seemed to spark us into life & we very quickly took control again and camped them in for long periods without creating the same amount of clear cut chances but did in the end wear them down and score 3 more!

I said at half time though I would have rather won 4-0 then 6-3 so I’m gutted we conceded cheap goals, boys QUALITY on clearances is massive, too many times from crosses coming in, we dangle legs or don’t get a good contact on the ball, ends up ricocheting about & we give poor goals away, REACT to the second and sometimes even third and fourth phase to clear the danger!

On the whole though a very very positive performance & it’s the most potent and dangerous we have looked this season going forward so well done!

Kai what a strike, goal of the season contender there & also you Bailey, a tremendous display, dynamic, aggressive, direct everything I need from you, but I challenge you now for that to be your level week in week out and stay consistent!

Lads we have a very important week ahead!

And we know how important Sunday is to us so let’s get to work at training tomorrow and Friday and start preparing!

Cheers H/Becks
