Unique FC U14 1 vs 4 GLEBE FC

Ah lads.

Absolutely gutted after today please find attached my report.

Chaps for 55 minutes today i thought we were excellent & on another day could have been 3-0 up going into the last period of the game.

We set up in a 3-4-3 with personnel missing.. we spoke before the game about overloading the midfield with a + 1.. AND trying to utilise our obvious attributes in wide areas.

I thought the game plan worked perfectly for just under a hour, a great goal from Max after bright play from Ethan and Bailey for the corner and I thought for the majority of the 1st half we absolutely suffocated Glebe.. we won all the second balls, we played through the lines brilliantly well, triangles between the midfield 4.. getting in great areas and missed two guilt edges chances to get the all important second goal.

I did want to mention how many times it was on to switch play to Kai Gordon today, too many times we had good possession was circulating the ball and then went back into the area we had just worked it out of, get body shape right and keep the ball moving out wide!

We spoke at half time about continuing the same energy & endeavour both on and off the ball but the reality is chaps we couldn’t maintain the level we set in the first half, I actually felt we went way to direct 2nd half.. unsure if this was because we wanted to win so much or fatigue/fitness but we didn’t have the same control we did in the first half and Glebes influence in the game began to grow, the number 4 (central midfielder) began to pull the strings & I’m still trying to comprehend how we have lost 4-1.. the score line does not reflect the game, but similar to yesterday we were punished badly in the last period of the game.. probably the biggest take away from me as I felt both games this weekend there has been some real real positives.

Are we gutted to crash out, of course BUT the level of display I saw for a hour both yesterday and today gives me hope, all be it we must sustain that level for the entire game and that’s something I’ll be looking at.

George Pacey I thought you were excellent today playing out of position if we are honest & Malik.

I actually felt there was some really really bright displays across the pitch today and it will serve us well going into a big weekend ahead.

Greenwich in the JPL Cup final fixture before starting our KYL campaign at home to Tunbridge Wells.
