Ok lads,
First match report of the season, a little bit on this, match reports are a tool we use to help you develop, it’s quite rare to get feedback after every game but at Unique that’s how we operate, please make sure you always read in full and take on the feedback that may be given In a report!
After watching the VEO back boys, I must say I was very proud of the performance all be it we didn’t come away with the result.
I thought we started the game tremendously well & camped Metrogas in, we took the lead through a wonderful delivery from Leon, who I thought was the best player on the pitch on the day, well done! After that I felt we smelt blood, and with the pace Lemar has I felt we were utilising this very well, Metrogas were shell shocked.
Fair play to them they changed shape quickly & began to have more of a foothold in the game, the equaliser was a real frustration as we tried to play out, Sera can we make sure we always check our shoulders, had we have done this we were out but we ended up going backwards with a under hit pass and they scored, having said that I felt you was tremendous on the day and ran the game, particularly in the 2nd half.
The second half was a very even affair, but what pleased me the most was how we competed, I asked you before whether we could mix it & you answered that for sure! We crashed in to tackles, celebrated when we turnt the ball over & never shyed away from mixing it, this is essential if we want to be successful.
The turning point was the 1 v 1 we had, Tyer & Lemar I felt you got in eachother’s way, we needed someone to take control of the situation & be the boss, take control and be the match winner.
The goal they scored was great, a great cross and great finish, and it’s a lesson of how important it is to stay alive at all times, you get punished at this level and it’s a tough lesson to learn.
Loads of positives boys & Metrogas will be right up there at the end of the season, but if we continue to play in this manner so will we.
Let’s get our first win on Sunday boys and continue to build.
