Away league match
RIT Dubai travelled to NYU Abu Dhabi’s home ground on 2nd November 2025 for a league away fixture kicking off at 9:45am. Over the course of 70 minutes plus added time, RIT Dubai emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, a result that showcased their attacking intent and defensive resilience.
RIT Dubai lined up in a 3-1-4-2 formation, deploying three defenders at the back with Mohamed Chahine centrally flanked by Artemii Graf on the right and Aws Dashash on the left. Mohamed Hazza operated as the lone central midfielder sitting just ahead of the defensive line, tasked with breaking up opposition play and distributing the ball forward. The midfield four consisted of Artur Farhutdinov on the right wing, Mohammad AlSayyed and Mohamed Haitam Yousfi occupying central attacking midfield roles, and Mohamed Boudrai on the left wing. Up front, Masoud Barahoey led the line on the right with Hazza Yateem partnering him on the left. This setup was designed to provide width and creativity through the attacking midfielders and forwards, while maintaining defensive solidity with three at the back and a holding midfielder. The substitutes named were Mohsin Ayaz, Anas Bukdida, and Armaan Shafique.
The match began with a dramatic moment as Hazza Yateem stepped up to take an early penalty in the first minute but struck the post, denying RIT an immediate lead. Despite this setback, the visitors quickly pressed forward. Just two minutes later, Artur Farhutdinov tested the NYU goalkeeper with a shot that was well saved, while Yateem followed up with an attempt that flew over the bar. The early exchanges were intense, with Yateem also committing a foul in the sixth minute as the game’s physicality ramped up.
RIT Dubai’s persistence paid off with several attempts on goal. Yateem’s shot in the tenth minute was saved, and Smyan Aggarwal, the RIT goalkeeper, produced a crucial point-blank reaction save in the twelfth minute to keep the clean sheet intact. Mohamed Haitam Yousfi also had a chance in the fifteenth minute but sent his effort high over the bar. The match saw a flurry of fouls, including those committed by Yateem and Farhutdinov, reflecting the competitive nature of the contest.
Despite the early missed penalty, Yateem remained a constant threat, firing another attempt high in the 24th minute. Defensively, RIT Dubai were solid, with Aggarwal catching a cross at the 26th minute and making a vital save diving at the feet of an attacker in the 40th minute. The first half’s physicality continued with fouls from Yateem and Mohamed Boudrai, the latter receiving a yellow card shortly after the break.
The breakthrough came in the 32nd minute when Hazza Yateem finally found the net. Masoud Barahoey provided a clever flicked assist inside the box, allowing Yateem to slot home with his right foot. This goal was a reward for RIT’s early pressure and attacking intent. The half concluded at 35 minutes, after which RIT Dubai made two substitutions: Anas Bukdida replaced Barahoey, and Mohsin Ayaz came on for Artemii Graf, signalling a tactical refresh.
The second half saw RIT Dubai maintain control, with Mohamed Haitam Yousfi attempting a wide shot in the 37th minute. Aggarwal continued to shine between the sticks, making another impressive dive at the feet of an attacker in the 49th minute. The game remained physical with fouls committed by Anas Bukdida and Mohamed Boudrai, the latter being substituted off for Armaan Shafique at the 47th minute and promptly receiving a second yellow card, resulting in a red card dismissal.
Mohammad AlSayyed also committed a foul in the 49th minute, but RIT’s defensive organisation held firm. An offside call against Mohamed Chahine came in the 51st minute, but the visitors’ discipline was otherwise commendable. Mohamed Hazza was booked for a foul in the 55th minute, and shortly after, RIT made another substitution with Masoud Barahoey returning to the pitch in place of Artur Farhutdinov.
Barahoey made an immediate impact, scoring RIT Dubai’s second goal in the 57th minute. The goal originated from a long pass by Armaan Shafique, which Barahoey controlled inside the box before finishing with his right foot. He then had another attempt saved in the following minute, showing his intent to extend the lead further.
In the 60th minute, Hazza Yateem was substituted off for Mohamed Boudrai, who was soon shown a red card for a second yellow in the 61st minute, reducing RIT to nine men. Despite this numerical disadvantage, RIT’s defensive resolve did not waver. Anas Bukdida committed a foul in the 62nd minute, but Smyan Aggarwal’s sharp reflexes were on display again with a point-blank reaction save in the 66th minute.
Further substitutions followed at the 66th minute mark with Artur Farhutdinov returning to replace Mohammad AlSayyed and Artemii Graf coming back on for Mohamed Chahine. Farhutdinov had a late attempt saved in the 69th minute, but the scoreline remained 2-0 in favour of RIT Dubai as the match drew to a close.
Smyan Aggarwal’s goalkeeping heroics were pivotal in securing the clean sheet, while Mohamed Haitam Yousfi and Mohammad AlSayyed also impressed with their midfield contributions. RIT Dubai’s tactical discipline, combined with clinical finishing from Hazza Yateem and Masoud Barahoey, ensured a well-deserved victory on the road against NYU Abu Dhabi.
