Away cup match
RIT Dubai secured a commanding 5-1 win over CUD in their cup away fixture at AUS Stadium on 7 November 2025, with kick-off at 8:00pm. The match lasted 70 minutes plus added time, and RIT Dubai’s clinical attacking display ensured a comfortable progression in the competition.
Deploying a classic 4-4-2 formation, RIT Dubai lined up with Omar Taalab in goal, shielded by a back four of Khalifa Albedwawi at right back, Mohamed Chahine and Mohsin Ayaz as central defenders, and Aws Dashash on the left. The midfield featured Artur Farhutdinov on the right wing, Mohamed Haitam Yousfi and Mohammad AlSayyed centrally, and Mohamed Saif on the left flank. Up front, Saeed Alhashemi operated as the right forward with Hazza Yateem partnering him on the left. This setup was designed to balance defensive solidity with wide attacking options and a two-pronged strike force. The substitutes available were Armaan Shafique, Masoud Barahoey, Abdelhamid Darweesh, Nariman Samani, Faisal Al Ahmad, Karam Alsayed, and Mohamed Albawab.
The match began with intensity as Mohammad AlSayyed conceded an early foul in the first minute, signalling RIT Dubai’s aggressive intent. Early offside calls disrupted the rhythm, notably against Artur Farhutdinov in the fifth minute and Saeed Alhashemi shortly after. Despite these setbacks, RIT Dubai quickly asserted themselves with multiple attempts on goal. Farhutdinov’s effort in the seventh minute was well saved, while Saif’s shot soared high just a minute later. Hazza Yateem was also active, forcing saves and firing attempts over the bar in quick succession.
RIT Dubai’s breakthrough came in the 15th minute when Aws Dashash delivered a precise long pass, allowing Saeed Alhashemi to rise highest and head the ball into the net. This goal epitomised the team’s tactical approach, utilising wide defenders to supply crosses for the forwards. Moments later, Mohamed Chahine’s high attempt showed the defenders’ willingness to contribute offensively. The midfield tried their luck too, with Mohamed Haitam Yousfi shooting wide at 19 minutes, while Yateem continued to test the opposition keeper with a series of efforts.
The physicality of the match was evident when Khalifa Albedwawi received a yellow card for a bad tackle in the 24th minute. This was quickly followed by a goalmouth scramble from CUD, who managed to claw one back with a close-range header in the 25th minute, briefly halting RIT Dubai’s momentum. However, the visitors responded immediately; Farhutdinov’s shot rattled the crossbar in the 28th minute, and Yateem’s saved attempt at 29 minutes kept the pressure on.
Tactical substitutions began at the 35th minute mark with Masoud Barahoey replacing Mohsin Ayaz and Armaan Shafique coming on for Farhutdinov, signalling a shift to fresh legs and renewed attacking impetus. The half ended with a flurry of offside calls against RIT Dubai players, but the visitors maintained control.
Just before half-time, Armaan Shafique scored a stunning long-range strike from outside the box, firing with his right foot to extend the lead. RIT Dubai’s fluid team move was on display again at 47 minutes when Saeed Alhashemi netted his second goal, this time assisted by a neat short pass from Mohamed Haitam Yousfi, slotting home with his left foot.
The second half saw continued aggression, with Hazza Yateem receiving a yellow card for persistent infringements at 49 minutes after committing a foul. RIT Dubai’s dominance was further emphasised when Masoud Barahoey scored inside the box from a precise cross by Alhashemi just a minute later. Shortly after, tactical substitutions saw Abdelhamid Darweesh and Nariman Samani replace Alhashemi and Haitam Yousfi respectively, injecting fresh energy into the side.
Despite some wide attempts from Samani and saved efforts from Darweesh, RIT Dubai maintained their attacking threat. The visitors continued to exploit CUD’s defensive frailties, with Darweesh scoring a spectacular long-range strike from outside the box in the 59th minute, assisted by Barahoey’s short pass. Further substitutions included Karam Alsayed replacing the booked Albedwawi at right back and Mohamed Albawab coming on for Aws Dashash at left back, ensuring defensive stability as the match progressed.
RIT Dubai’s attacking players remained lively, with Mohammad AlSayyed and Abdelhamid Darweesh both attempting shots, though some were off target or saved. The final minutes saw Hazza Yateem’s high shot and a foul by substitute Nariman Samani, but the visitors comfortably saw out the game.
Saeed Alhashemi was a standout performer, scoring twice and providing a crucial assist, while Mohamed Saif’s work on the left flank earned him recognition as one of the players of the match. RIT Dubai’s comprehensive 5-1 victory at AUS Stadium was a testament to their tactical discipline, attacking prowess, and squad depth, setting them up well for the next round of the cup.
