Newcastle Benfield Tardini u10 Sunday travelled to face Cramlington Juniors U10 Whites in a cup away match at 10:00am on 16 November 2025. The 7-a-side contest lasted 50 minutes plus injury time, with Newcastle Benfield Tardini securing a commanding 4-0 victory. The visitors demonstrated control and clinical finishing throughout the encounter.

Newcastle Benfield Tardini lined up in a 2-3-1 formation, deploying two central defenders, three midfielders across the right, centre and left, and a lone striker up front. Ollie Lattimer took his place in goal, protected by central defenders James Rutherford and Oliver Moore. The midfield trio consisted of Tom Slater on the left, Freddie Brydon centrally, and Parker Buglass on the right, tasked with both defensive duties and supplying the forward line. Alfie Simons led the attack as the sole striker, expected to capitalise on chances created by the midfield. On the bench were substitutes Elias Rowland, Jaxson Medland and Lewis Coates, ready to impact the game as needed.

The match began with Newcastle Benfield Tardini asserting themselves early. A tactical substitution came in the 18th minute when Elias Rowland replaced striker Alfie Simons, aiming to inject fresh impetus into the attack. Just two minutes later, Rowland justified the change by scoring a close-range goal with his right foot, giving the visitors a crucial lead.

Shortly after, an injury forced another change as Jaxson Medland came on for Parker Buglass in the 21st minute. Despite this disruption, Newcastle Benfield Tardini maintained their composure and dominance. The first half concluded at the 25-minute mark with the visitors comfortably ahead.

In the second half, tactical adjustments continued. Lewis Coates replaced Jaxson Medland in the 33rd minute, bringing renewed energy and stretching the game. Coates made an immediate impact by scoring a close-range goal inside the box with his right foot in the 37th minute, doubling the advantage.

The visitors extended their lead in the 39th minute when Tom Slater found the net from outside the box with a right-footed strike. The goal was expertly set up by a short pass from Lewis Coates, showcasing excellent link-up play between midfield and attack.

As the match approached its conclusion, tactical substitutions continued with Alfie Simons reintroduced for Lewis Coates in the 48th minute.

Further substitutions saw Jaxson Medland return to the field for Tom Slater, while Parker Buglass came back on for Freddie Brydon at the 48th minute mark. These changes helped maintain the team’s rhythm and balance.

This move paid dividends immediately as Simons scored a spectacular long-range strike with his right foot in the 49th minute, assisted by a precise long pass from Elias Rowland on the counter.

Newcastle Benfield Tardini’s 4-0 victory was built on solid defensive organisation, midfield creativity and clinical finishing. Lewis Coates stood out for his influential performance, contributing a goal and an assist, earning him the player of the match accolade. The team’s fluid substitutions and tactical flexibility ensured they maintained control throughout, leaving Cramlington Juniors unable to respond. Today was a one sided match which kept the opposition’s manager quiet (just about).

Asked for comments on todays game, Joint Manager Latts said; " Everyone was excellent today. From getting beat 6-2 last week off the same team demonstrates what we are capable of when we play football the right way. Few players played in different positions today which isnt always easy. But the attitude and effort was top draw. Into the quarter finals we go!"
