Carbrain Clarets 2011's travelled to Galaxy Sports Little Kerse on 30 January 2026 for a league away fixture against Gairdoch 2011s, kicking off at 7:30pm. The match ended in a 2-2 stalemate after 80 minutes plus added time, with both sides sharing the spoils in a contest full of drama and late twists.
Carbrain Clarets 2011's lined up in a 4-4-1-1 formation, deploying Archie Edgar in goal. The defensive line consisted of Ryan Cherry at right back, Zack Graham and Daniel Abdulrahman as central defenders, and Liam MaGuire on the left. In midfield, Noah Webb took up the right midfield berth, with Kai Logan and Tyler Scott operating centrally. On the left wing was Kobe Stevenson, while just behind the lone striker Fergus Davies, played the attacking midfielder role filled by Zack Trialist. This setup was designed to provide defensive solidity with four at the back, midfield width and creativity from the flanks, and support for the striker through the attacking midfielder.
The first half was a cagey affair, but Carbrain Clarets 2011's took the lead just before the interval. In the 39th minute, Fergus Davies flicked the ball cleverly to Kobe Stevenson, who embarked on a solo run to break through the defence and finish clinically. This goal was a testament to Stevenson's pace and skill, giving the visitors a deserved advantage going into half time.
The break came at 40 minutes with Carbrain Clarets 2011's leading 1-0, setting the stage for an intriguing second half.
Early in the second period, Carbrain Clarets 2011's doubled their lead in the 47th minute. Fergus Davies capitalised on a defensive error from Gairdoch 2011s, pouncing to score and extend the Clarets’ advantage. This goal underlined Davies’ alertness and predatory instincts in the box.
However, Gairdoch 2011s responded with determination. In the 56th minute, they pulled a goal back through a spectacular long-range strike that left Archie Edgar with no chance. The shot from distance was a reminder that the Clarets’ defence could be vulnerable to quick, incisive shooting.
The home side continued to press and eventually found an equaliser late on in the 84th minute. A frantic goalmouth scramble ensued, and Gairdoch 2011s managed to force the ball over the line amid the chaos. Despite the Clarets’ efforts to regain control, the match ended 2-2.
Throughout the match, Carbrain Clarets 2011's showed glimpses of attacking flair and defensive organisation but were ultimately undone by lapses in concentration and the opposition’s resilience. The 4-4-1-1 formation allowed them to create chances, particularly through Stevenson and Davies, but the defensive line had to withstand sustained pressure in the closing stages.
The draw leaves Carbrain Clarets 2011's with a point on the road, reflecting a hard-fought encounter at Galaxy Sports Little Kerse against a determined Gairdoch 2011s side.
