About Caddington Chequers FC

CADDINGTON CHEQUERS FOOTBALL CLUB following new sponsorship from The Chequers in Caddington saw the third name for the side affectionally known by their supporters as 'THE CLUB'. CCFC currently compete in the Leighton & District Sunday League. Rising Sun F.C were formed in 2008 by Sir Sean Trowell and Richard Woods CBE. Their desire for a new team to overtake Luton Town's monopoly on Luton football saw this creation, the team was nearly named 'Inter The Pub' but this was stopped by Beds FA. Rising's first year was a dissapointing one, mainly due to a lack of commitment from its players, however their second year provided a greater improvement and a mid table finish in the old Luton Sunday League. In the year 2009 Trowell bought out business partner Woods' shares to take sole ownership of the club. However this was short lived and in 2011 an unamed oil rich arab businessman made Trowell an offer he could not refuse and the club are now under ownership of a mysterious arab.
