On 21 September 2025, Worthing Dynamo U13 Black travelled to Hill Barn Recreation Ground to face Worthing United Youth U13 in a league away fixture that kicked off promptly at 10:00am. The match, officiated by referee Harry Ward, ended in a 5-2 victory for the home side after a competitive 70 minutes of football plus added time.
Worthing Dynamo lined up in a traditional 4-4-2 formation, deploying Ellis Williams in goal. The defensive line consisted of Toby Rennie at right back, Harrison Flanagan and Toby Killick as central defenders, and Bailey Freshwater on the left. The midfield four featured Teddy Gill on the right wing, Leo Whyatt and Archie Parker-Muckle centrally, with Rudy Clark operating on the left flank. Up front, Theo Phillips took the right forward role while Lewis Langdell played on the left. Woody Mason was named as the substitute.
The 4-4-2 setup was expected to provide a balanced approach, with the full-backs tasked with defensive solidity and supporting wide play, while the central midfielders aimed to control the tempo and link defence with attack. The match began with Worthing United Youth asserting early dominance, opening the scoring in the 11th minute. Just three minutes later, they doubled their advantage, putting Worthing Dynamo under immediate pressure. The visitors’ hopes were dealt a further blow when Teddy Gill was forced off injured in the 22nd minute, replaced by Woody Mason.
Worthing United continued their relentless assault, adding a third goal in the 26th minute and a fourth five minutes later, leaving Dynamo trailing 4-0. However, Mason made an instant impact for Dynamo, capitalising on a goalmouth scramble to score a close-range goal in the 33rd minute, offering a glimmer of hope.
At half time , a tactical switch saw Teddy Gill return to the pitch, replacing Rudy Clark in midfield.
The second half resumed with Worthing United extending their lead further in the 44th minute, making it 5-1. Dynamo responded with a substitution in the 58th minute, bringing Rudy Clark back on for Lewis Langdell in an attempt to inject fresh energy into the attack.
Worthing Dynamo’s persistence paid off in the 60th minute when Theo Phillips produced a fine solo goal, weaving through the defence to reduce the deficit to 5-2. The visitors continued to press, and another substitution followed in the 66th minute as Lewis Langdell replaced Teddy Gill, aiming to bolster the forward line.
Despite their efforts, Worthing Dynamo were unable to find a third goal, and the match ended 5-2 in favour of Worthing United Youth. Archie Parker-Muckle was named player of the match for his influential presence in central midfield throughout the contest.
