Purton 3 - Forest Green 4

<p>Pre season friendly against Forest Green. Purton started the better of the two teams, pressing well and forcing several corners but, unable to convert into goals. Matty on the break puts ball across the&nbsp;Forest Green goal but, Andrew unable to reach it. The after 10min against the run of play, Forest Green go 1-0 up after a mis-hit cross ends up in the back of the Purton net.

<p>Forset&nbsp;Green then started to get more of&nbsp;the play, but Matty leveled the scoreline after 14mins with a lovely shot from outside the penalty box.&nbsp;

<p>The match was split into 4x 20 minute periods and just before the end of the first period Forest Green made it 2-1.

<p>Second Period: Subs Josh for Declan; Alfie for Ryan. Again Purton started the better of the two teams, applying pressure but still unable to make the&nbsp;pressure tell.&nbsp;

<p>Sub Mitch on for Jordan, Andrew moves to right back.

<p>Alfie picks the ball&nbsp;up from edge of box, has a&nbsp;shot at goal and but hits the post. Louis makes one of his long and determined runs, more or less fighting his way into the Forest penalty box, lays the ball off to Matt who bangs in his second goal of the match. 2-2

<p>Third Period: 44mins and&nbsp;Matty get&rsquo;s his hat trick and puts Purton ahead for first time in the match 3-2, but the lead is shortlived and a minute later Forest Green level things up and make it 3-3

<p>Forest Green go&nbsp;on the break but shot goes over the bar. 3-3 End of 3rd Period

<p>Fourth Period: Fraser has a shot on goal, and brings out a good diving save form the Forest Green goalie. 65 minutes into the match and Forest Green, who for the first time started the new period the stronger,&nbsp;make it&nbsp; 4-3. However Purton keep fighting, and long through ball from Alfie puts Matty through, but his shot is saved. James wins a header from a Mitch corner but goes wide. Forest Green go on the break, get as far as the Purton penalty box, only for Josh to dive and snatch the ball from the strikers feet. Louis makes another run but this time gets pulled down outside the penalty box. Charlie lines the kick up and his shot narrowly goes over the bar.

<p>Final score 3-4 to Forest Green, but a good team performance from&nbsp;Purton, against a strong physical Forest Green team. The signs are looking good for the on coming season.
