Away league match

Newcastle Benfield Tardini u10 Sunday travelled to face Cramlington Juniors U10 Whites in a league away match at a stupid kick off time of 11:15am on 9 November 2025 (They must not have known Durham lasses v Newcastle lasses kicked off at 12). The 7-a-side contest, played over 50 minutes plus added time, ended in a 6-2 victory for the home side. Despite a spirited second-half revival from Newcastle Benfield Tardini, Cramlington Juniors proved too clinical on the day.

Newcastle Benfield Tardini lined up in a 2-3-1 formation, with Ollie Lattimer guarding the goal. The defensive duo consisted of James Rutherford and Lewis Coates, tasked with holding the backline steady. In midfield, Freddie Brydon operated on the right, Oliver Moore held the central midfield role, and Elias Rowland covered the left side, expected to provide width and support both defence and attack. Leading the line was striker Alfie Simons, the focal point of the team’s offensive efforts. On the bench were substitutes Jaxson Medland and Parker Buglass, ready to impact the game as needed.

The match got off to a difficult start for Newcastle Benfield Tardini as Cramlington Juniors took an early lead in the ninth minute with a fluke goal that caught the defence off guard. The visitors struggled to settle as the home side doubled their advantage six minutes later, again capitalising on a fortunate break. The pressure forced Newcastle Benfield Tardini into a double substitution at the quarter-hour mark, with Jaxson Medland and Parker Buglass replacing Elias Rowland and Freddie Brydon respectively, signalling a tactical shift.

Cramlington Juniors continued to dominate, scoring a third fluke goal just two minutes after the substitutions, leaving Newcastle Benfield Tardini chasing shadows. The first half closed with the home side firmly in control, adding a fourth fluke goal in the 29th minute. The half-time whistle arrived with the scoreline heavily in favour of Cramlington Juniors, who had taken full advantage of Newcastle Benfield Tardini’s defensive lapses.

The second half saw no immediate respite for the visitors as Cramlington Juniors extended their lead further in the 35th minute, this time from a goalmouth scramble that left the Newcastle Benfield Tardini defence scrambling. In response, Newcastle Benfield Tardini made further changes in the 38th minute, bringing Elias Rowland back on for Jaxson Medland in a tactical switch, while Freddie Brydon returned to replace an injured Oliver Moore.

Newcastle Benfield Tardini’s fortunes began to shift as Parker Buglass made a significant impact. He opened the scoring for the visitors in the 40th minute with a stunning direct free-kick from outside the box, struck cleanly with his left foot. Buglass then doubled his tally four minutes later, this time finishing a close-range effort inside the box with his right foot, sparking hope of a comeback.

With momentum gathering, Newcastle Benfield Tardini made another tactical substitution at the 45th minute, reintroducing Oliver Moore for Lewis Coates to bolster the midfield and regain control. Despite their improved play and Buglass’s inspired performance, the visitors were unable to find further goals to close the gap.

Ultimately, Cramlington Juniors held firm to secure a 6-2 victory, their early fluke goals proving decisive. Parker Buglass was deservedly named player of the match for his two excellent goals and overall influence in the second half, highlighting his importance to Newcastle Benfield Tardini’s fightback.

Joint Manager Nick was asked for his thoughts about the match, however he could not hear the question as his ears were still ringing from the Crammy Utd manager never shutting up and screaming at his players for the full game. We go again next week.
