Mile Oak lined up with Archie Gunn in goal, protected by a back four consisting of Charlie Morton at right back, Kingsley Roussel and Josh Boarer as central defenders, and Olle Webb on the left. The midfield quartet featured Isaac Samagh on the right, Herbie Woolin and Will Newton centrally, and Izac Woodward on the left. Tyler Mugridge operated just behind the lone striker, Tyler West, tasked with leading the line. This formation was designed to provide defensive solidity and midfield control, with Mugridge expected to link play and create chances for West. The substitutes named were Jude Butler, Stan Churchyard, and Finley Howarth.
The opening goal came in the 16th minute when Tyler West capitalised on a precise assist from Tyler Mugridge, giving Mile Oak an early lead. West’s clinical finish was a sign of intent from the visitors. Twelve minutes later, West doubled his tally with a well-placed strike set up by Herbie Woolin, who demonstrated his creative influence from central midfield. Mile Oak’s early dominance was evident as they went into the half-time break with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.
Shortly after the interval, changes were made with Jude Butler replacing Olle Webb at left back in the 42nd minute, followed by Stan Churchyard coming on for Herbie Woolin two minutes later. The substitutions quickly paid dividends when Churchyard found the net in the 49th minute, extending Mile Oak’s lead to 3-0 and reinforcing their control of the match.
Woodingdean Wanderers responded with two goals of their own, scoring in the 51st and 56th minutes to reduce the deficit and inject some urgency into the contest. However, Mile Oak restored their three-goal cushion in the 63rd minute when Tyler West converted a penalty, completing his hat-trick and underscoring his importance to the team’s attacking threat. At the same time, Finley Howarth replaced Izac Woodward on the left wing, adding fresh legs to the midfield.
Isaac Samagh then sealed the victory with a well-taken goal in the 72nd minute, assisted by the returning Herbie Woolin, who had come off the bench earlier. Samagh’s contribution from right midfield was pivotal in maintaining the team’s momentum and securing the win.
Mile Oak’s victory was built on a solid defensive foundation and incisive attacking play, with Tyler West’s hat-trick and Samagh’s influential performance earning him the player of the match accolade.
