Home league match

Labyrinth Football Club Ladies welcomed Orbit Queens to Dinie Estate Rustenburg on the morning of 6 December 2025 for a league home match kicking off at 9:00am. The hosts delivered a commanding performance to secure a 3-0 victory over their visitors in a tightly contested 90-minute encounter plus added time.

Deploying a 3-4-3 formation, Labyrinth Football Club Ladies set up with three defenders at the back: Nhlayakgosi Lebogang on the right, Letlhogonolo Ditau centrally, and Mpho Kheswa on the left. Their midfield quartet consisted of Mosele Ashley on the right wing, Kebitsang Vanessa and Modise Neo occupying the central midfield roles, and Penyenye Keatlaretswe on the left flank. Up front, the attacking trio featured Mabalane Rachael on the right, Resego Ntsayagae leading as the striker, and Kekana Masego on the left forward position. This formation was designed to provide defensive solidity through the back three, control the midfield with a strong central presence, and utilise width and pace from the wide midfielders and forwards. The expectation was for the midfielders to link play effectively and support the forwards in creating scoring opportunities. On the bench, Motshwenyane Neo and Nontlantla Javu were named as substitutes.

The match burst into life almost immediately as Labyrinth Ladies took the lead in the second minute. Kebitsang Vanessa struck from outside the area with a precise right-footed shot following a neat short pass from Kekana Masego. This early goal set the tone for the home side’s dominance and placed Orbit Queens on the back foot.

As the game progressed, Labyrinth’s fluid passing and movement began to unravel the visitors’ defensive shape. At the 27-minute mark, Kekana Masego doubled the advantage with a well-crafted team move. Receiving a short pass from Kebitsang Vanessa, Masego calmly finished with her right foot, reinforcing the home side’s control and confidence.

The first half also saw some disciplinary moments. Mpho Kheswa, operating as the left defender, was cautioned with a yellow card in the 39th minute for an unspecified infringement. Shortly after, a tactical substitution took place just before half time when Motshwenyane Neo replaced the right defender Nhlayakgosi Lebogang in the 42nd minute, perhaps to inject fresh legs into the defensive line.

Half time arrived with Labyrinth Football Club Ladies firmly in command at 2-0.

The second half began with Labyrinth continuing their attacking intent. In the 59th minute, a tactical change was made as Nontlantla Javu came on to replace the booked left defender Mpho Kheswa, signalling a strategic adjustment to maintain defensive stability and energy on the left flank.

Labyrinth’s pressure paid off again in the 68th minute when Penyenye Keatlaretswe headed home a close-range goal. The assist came from a well-delivered cross by Kekana Masego, who was proving to be a constant threat down the left side. This headed goal sealed the emphatic nature of the victory and underscored the effectiveness of the home side’s wide play and aerial prowess.

The match saw another booking late on as Letlhogonolo Ditau, the central defender, received a yellow card in the 81st minute for an unspecified reason, but this did little to affect the outcome as Labyrinth comfortably saw out the remainder of the game.

Referee performance was rated highly at 90, ensuring the match flowed well despite the physicality and intensity displayed by both teams.

Labyrinth Football Club Ladies’ victory was highlighted by the standout performances of Modise Neo in midfield and Kekana Masego on the left forward, both named players of the match for their influence in controlling the tempo and creating key goal-scoring opportunities.

In summary, Labyrinth Football Club Ladies executed their 3-4-3 formation with precision and purpose, combining defensive resilience with attacking flair to secure a comprehensive 3-0 win over Orbit Queens at Dinie Estate Rustenburg.
