Labyrinth Football Club Ladies hosted Spanish Eagles at Dinie Estate Rustenburg on 3rd December 2025, with kick-off at 3:00pm in a crucial league encounter. The match ended in a 2-2 stalemate after 90 minutes of intense football, witnessed by 200 spectators and officiated impeccably by referee Latoyah.
Labyrinth FC Ladies lined up in a 3-4-3 formation, deploying three defenders at the back: Nhlayakgosi Lebogang on the right, Nontlantla Javu centrally, and Mpho Kheswa on the left. The midfield quartet featured Mosele Ashley on the right, Letlhogonolo Ditau and Modise Neo occupying the central midfield roles, and Kebitsang Vanessa on the left flank. Upfront, the attacking trio consisted of Kekana Masego on the right forward position, Penyenye Keatlaretswe as the central striker, and Mabalane Rachael on the left forward side. The goalkeeper was Thibathiba Thebe. Resego Ntsayagae was named among the substitutes.
The match began with both sides probing for openings, but it was Spanish Eagles who drew first blood in the 28th minute. Capitalising on a defensive error, the visitors’ forward struck with her right foot, exploiting a lapse in concentration from Labyrinth’s backline. The Eagles doubled their advantage in the 37th minute with a stunning long-range strike from outside the box, again with the right foot, leaving Thebe with no chance.
Labyrinth responded before the interval, pulling one back in the 43rd minute through Penyenye Keatlaretswe. The goal was expertly crafted by central defender Nontlantla Javu, who delivered a precise long pass that found Keatlaretswe outside the area. She finished confidently with her right foot, reducing the deficit and injecting hope into the home side. The first half concluded with the scoreline at 2-1 in favour of Spanish Eagles.
At half-time, Labyrinth made a tactical substitution, bringing on Resego Ntsayagae for left defender Mpho Kheswa to shore up the defence and add fresh legs. The second half saw Labyrinth pushing forward with greater urgency. However, in the 52nd minute, left forward Mabalane Rachael was shown a yellow card for a bad tackle, a caution that slightly disrupted the home side’s rhythm.
The equaliser arrived in the 71st minute when left midfielder Kebitsang Vanessa struck from outside the box with her left foot, following another long pass from Nontlantla Javu. This goal levelled the match at 2-2 and set up a tense finale. Both teams had chances to claim victory, but neither could find the decisive goal before the final whistle.
Mosele Ashley and Modise Neo were standout performers in midfield, driving Labyrinth’s play and maintaining composure under pressure. Their influence was pivotal in both defensive duties and launching attacks, earning them the player of the match accolades.
In summary, Labyrinth Football Club Ladies showed resilience to come back from two goals down against Spanish Eagles at Dinie Estate. Despite the draw, the home side demonstrated tactical flexibility and fighting spirit in a well-contested league fixture.
