Cry Baby

A welcome back to Tony, but a bit of a disjointed performance from the team unfortunately. Started well by all accounts, but did not score. Let in a couple of tame goals.

Ilyas scored from a free kick, which either had a lot of bend on it - or the wind took it.

Moment of the match was a sturdy challenge in the box from Sam on their midfielder who lay on the ground as if dead, the way a 5 year old having a tantrum would.

Some contention about their last goal which Stu tipped onto the bar and their winger followed up to knock in the rebound. He was my man, I will hold my hand up for that one. When we were contesting it their player said "well if it isn't a goal it is a penalty". Not sure last time I checked the rule book you get a penalty if you are denied a goal from a marginal offside.

It was a tale of the haves and the have nots in the Duke - Andy, Tony, Punter, Charlie B, Ilyas basking in the warm glow of the outdoor heater on the wall, while birthday boy Stu, Sam, Paul and I shivered in the relative Siberia of a table nearer the road. December and January in the Duke beer garden are not going to be fun.
