Beautiful Simplicity

Andy surprised us all by turning up at 6:45, a full 32 minutes before his normal arrival time, which meant he had a rare start.

Played some nice stuff, passed it around better, defended not too badly, a few scares - it wouldn't be BoC without a few hair raising moments. Stu, someone told me later, was playing on 3 pints at lunchtime, but you couldn't tell that to be fair.

Great cross from Tom on the left, Tony just missed it and Ben unfortunately ballooned it over the bar.

0-0 at HT, but we conceded shortly afterwards from a beautifully simple goal, their right winger outpacing Michael and pulling back a cross into the middle that a runner from their midfield was just able to beat Rich to. Good team goal.

We pressed hard and their keeper made an excellent save from a Tony shot that was going in the bottom corner. But we ended goalless and pointless and can only reflect on a decent performance and a good natured and enjoyable match.

Another good turn out in the freezing beer garden of the DoC. A heater or two would really make that experience a lot more pleasant, but I had brought my "big coat" this week, so it was a bit more bearable.
