The Yousaf Hashmi Football League was founded in 2005 by Yousaf Hashmi, a former professional footballer. Hashmi was inspired to start the league after seeing the lack of opportunities for young footballers in Karachi. The league initially had just 10 teams, but it has since grown to over 30 teams.
The league is named after Hashmi's father, who was also a footballer. The league's motto is "Football for all," and it is open to players of all ages and abilities.
