The Watford Sunday League is an amateur football league in Watford, England. It was founded in 1955 and currently has over 100 clubs playing in four divisions. The league is affiliated to the Hertfordshire Football Association.

History

The Watford Sunday League was founded in 1955 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first season had just 12 clubs, but the league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 clubs.

The league has been won by a variety of clubs over the years, including Bushey Rangers, Woodside, and Oxhey Jets. The current champions are Abbots Langley Club.

Divisions

The Watford Sunday League currently has four divisions:

  • Premier Division
  • Division One
  • Division Two
  • Division Three

The Premier Division is the top division in the league and is played on a Saturday. The other three divisions are played on a Sunday.

Cup competitions

The Watford Sunday League also runs a number of cup competitions, including:

  • Eric Hand Challenge Cup
  • Terry Devereux Memorial President's Cup
  • WSFL Chairman's Cup
  • WSFL Denis Jackson Intermediate Cup
  • WSFL Junior Cup
  • WSFL Ken Simmons Cup
