Development through the age groups

SSYFL runs youth football from the early mini-soccer years through to under-18 level. Its published guidance distinguishes development age groups from competitive age groups, reflecting a progression as players grow through the league. The club-registration information also sets out small-sided formats at the younger stages, moving towards the full-sided game for older teams; parents and coaches should check the league's current information for the arrangements that apply to an individual age group.

Respect and safeguarding

Respect is a stated part of the league's ethos for players, officials and spectators. SSYFL also publishes safeguarding and equality information for member clubs, alongside codes of conduct for young players, club officials, match officials and spectators.
