The Lisburn Junior Invitational League (LJIL) is an amateur football league in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1990 by the late Tommy Whiteside and Stanley Sheppard. The league currently has around 130 teams, including most Irish league clubs. It is affiliated with the Northern Ireland Boys' Football Association.
The LJIL was founded in 1990 by the late Tommy Whiteside and Stanley Sheppard. It started with 40 teams and has since grown to around 130 teams. The league is affiliated with the Northern Ireland Boys' Football Association and is one of the largest amateur football leagues in Northern Ireland.
The LJIL has a strong reputation for producing talented players. Many former LJIL players have gone on to play professional football, including Steven Davis, Gareth McAuley, and Kyle Lafferty.
