Read more →League One is the second-highest division of the English Football League (EFL). It is also known as EFL League One or simply League One.
The league was founded in 2004 as a result of the rebranding of the Football League Third Division. It currently consists of 24 clubs, each of which plays each other twice, once at home and once away.
The top two clubs at the end of the season are promoted to the EFL Championship, while the bottom four clubs are relegated to EFL League Two.
