About Kent Youth League
Established youth football in Kent
The Kent Youth League is a Sunday youth-football competition with a history stretching back to 1981. It began with eight clubs in an under-18 section after being established by Dick Mace, then secretary of Dartford FC. The league has since developed into a long-running competition for youth teams in Kent and the surrounding area.

Its official fixture information covers under-13, under-14, under-15, under-16 and under-18 football, alongside league and cup competition. For players moving through their teenage years, the league therefore provides a sustained organised route across older youth age groups.
League identity
The Kent Youth League’s published aim is to give players an opportunity to show their talents in an appropriate football environment. Its history also records the league’s link with clubs such as Greenwich Borough and Maidstone United in the early development of Ian Wright and Chris Smalling respectively.
The competition is overseen by volunteers and the league’s current communications include its work on respectful behaviour around matches. These themes sit alongside the practical running of a sizeable Sunday youth programme.
