The Ipswich Sunday Morning League was founded in 1922 by a group of local footballers who wanted to play football on Sundays. The first season saw just six teams competing, but the league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams.
The league has been home to some talented players over the years, including former England internationals Paul Gascoigne and Terry Butcher. Gascoigne played for the Westgate Wolves team in the 1980s, while Butcher played for the Ipswich Wanderers team in the 1970s.
