The High Wycombe Sunday Combination was founded in 1924 by a group of local footballers who wanted to create a competitive league for amateur players. The league quickly grew in popularity and now has over 100 teams competing in its various divisions.
The league has produced a number of talented players over the years, including former England internationals Steve Bull and David Beckham. Bull started his career with Marlow United, who were members of the High Wycombe Sunday Combination at the time, before moving on to play for Wolves and England. Beckham also played for a High Wycombe Sunday Combination team, Ridgeway Rovers, before joining Manchester United and becoming one of the most famous footballers in the world.
