About West Midlands Saab FC

<p>Formerly known as Saddlers Arms FC.</p> <p>Have played for many years as an over 35's team and before that in open age football.</p> <p>We were close to going out of business last year with our pitch price doubling but luckily West Midlands Saab stepped in with a generous sponsorship package.</p> <p>We have recently moved pitch to our new facility at Light Hall School, Shirley.</p> <p>We train every Wednesday evening at Light Hall school from 7 til 8pm. Astroturf.</p> <p>If you are looking for a club then that's the best time to come along to try to impress.</p> <p>The league itself is very competitive, with some very talented players who just can't run as fast as they could!</p> <p>There are 5 divisions in total, and we are currently in the 3rd tier - Division One, having requested a drop of division this year as the lads all get older!</p> <p>We had got promoted by winning this division 3 seasons ago.</p> <p>Last year we finished 5th after an up and down season. Managing excellent runs in both cup competitions. Knocking out premier division clubs along the way to a quarter final defeat in the Open cup and a semi-final defeat in the divisonal one.</p> <p> </p> <p>This year we have 11 teams in our division and hope to be nearer the top than the bottom!</p>
