About Stronstad United First

<p>Back in 1994 a group of people from the local Sainsbury in Farlington decided to create a Sunday league football team. That team was known as Farlington.</p> <p>Starting in Division 6 of the Portsmouth Sunday League wearing a nice purple shirt Farlington started their slow progression through the leagues of Portsmouth before reaching the dizzy heights of Divison 1.</p> <p>Former players included Gav Earl, Dave Morling, Dean Matthews, Ben Drain and the much loved Karl Stronstad.</p> <p>The team then changed their name from Farlington to Stronstad Utd in memory of former player Karl Stronstad that sadly passed away.</p> <p>The team reformed and started in Division 5 where they managed to finish runners up behind a strong Watersedge Park side. Stronstad also got the to Adelaide Cup semi finals and also the Hampshire Cup Quarter finals.</p> <p>In Division 3 Stronstad played some excellent football and even though they finished 4th they were good enough to be promoted to Division 2.</p> <p>Having finished 3rd in Divsion 2 Stronstad have now been promoted to Division 1</p>
