Frolesworth United F.C

Frolesworth United F.C was formed by Sam Jacques in 2008 and are the first football club to hail from the small Leicestershire village of Frolesworth.

The Rabbits began life at 'The Warren', Hall Park, Hall Lane, Bitteswell but moved Dunley Way at the beginning of their fourth season, before having finally settled at Kimcote Road, Gilmorton at the start of the 2013/14 campaign.

United finished bottom of the Alliance League Division One in their inaugural season, but the club retained their status in the second tier and propelled themselves into mid-table obscurity, managing a 6th placed finish in their second season under the guidance of Ben Harris and striker-cum-assistant manager Jordan Halford.

This feat was once again repeated in Harris' second season in charge and United also reached the Quarter-Final of the F.A Intermediate Cup, losing 2-0 to Perrin Rangers.

Harris steered the Rabbits to a third-placed finish in his third season in charge, subsequently resulting in promotion to the Alliance League Premier Division but after winning the opening two games, United were relegated from the top-flight after a disastrous run of 12 successive defeats.

Following a tumultuous season, United almost went out of business when chairman Josh Baines left the club, but following a late salvo from Jordan Halford the club managed to stay afloat before moving to their third new ground and securing the sponsorship of local pub, The Shambles Inn.

After a double relegation to Division Two, United clinched their first ever league title following 16 wins and two draws in addition to winning the EW Foster Cup with a 5-1 wiv onver Niffy Rangers. The Rabbits also reached the FA Intermediate Cup final, but suffered a shock defeat to Oadby Owls and were also beaten by Star & Garter in the semi-final of the Billy Walton Cup.

The 2014/15 campaign saw the Rabbits mount an assault on the Premier Division title, but they were to ultimately finish third following a decision from the Alliance League Management Committee. After appealling the decision to award Oadby Owls runners-up in the Premier Division to the Leicestershire & Rutland FA, Frolesworth United left the Alliance League after a seven-year affiliation.

As of the 2015/16 campaign, United moved to the Leicester Sunday League and also competed in the inaugural Leicestershire & Rutland FA Champions League, the Greene King Premier Cup and the FA Sunday Cup.

Frolesworth would go on to clinch the Premier Division title in their debut season, while also reaching the last 16 if the FA Sunday Cup, Quarter-Final of the Greene King Premier Cup and semi-final of the Leicestershire & Rutland FA Champions League.
