About Folly F.C

<p>A new Swallow FC was formed in 2008 after a long awaited takeover in the pub with Ken Watson and family running the business.</p> <p>The majority of players consists of old Langdowns who folded the season before and other local players.</p> <p>Under Francis Ward management the Swallow finished 3rd in Division 3 and also reached the Junior Cup Final after thirteen years and finished runners up.</p> <p>The second season saw the Swallow winning Division 3 and making the Semi Final of the Martin Turner cup. A good finish to the season!</p> <p>In our third season as a team we went into Division 2 as Champions from Division 3. We had a bit of a overhaul in the player department with some players moving on and a number of young lads coming in. Took a little bit of time to gel in pre-season, but we won our first game of the season 7-1, with a truly brilliant display. Buoyed by this, we were looking forward to the rest of the season!.</p> <p>Due to disruptions within the Swallw pub, we re-located to the Folly Inn after just two months of the new season! We went on to finish an unlucky 3rd after leading the Division all the way until the last month!</p> <p>This season is our fourth and with another turnover of players we have been promoted to Division 1. We changed our name to Folly FC for the new season. We look a lot stronger, footballing side with competition for all positions. This is a bit of a headache for the management, but a nice one to have!</p> <p> We have been paired with Eastbrook Harriers from Southampton in the North Hants Intermediate Cup ( Home fixture), and against Poison from Basingstoke in the Hampshire Senior Cup ( Home Fixture). Both games to be played during October. We are looking for a couple of good Cup runs, and to consolidate our position as one of the most promising and exciting teams in the Division</p> <p> Exciting times ahead!</p>
