Match Report - Walderslade WMC - 01 Oct 2023

Wigmore had started off the league campaign with two draws, three points were vital to keep pace with the early leaders.

There had been an improvement in last weeks match so it was clear to the team that keep playing football, keep working hard and the results will follow.

Wigmore looking to prove a point at the start the game off well, great passing and moving, talking, keeping shape it looked like it had finally clicked... Wigmore chance - missed, another chance - missed again, surely it couldn't be a repeat of the previous game could it?

WMC then scored after some questionable positioning and the whole team was stunned their first shot and a goal, Wigmore then pressed on and more chances went begging, then a momentary lapse in some players concentration allowed their forward to shoot and the ball trickled into the net, two shots faced and two goals down. Wigmore needed something before the break and they got what they deserved to bring it back to 2-1. HT came and words of "encouragement" were given.

Wigmore then produced a stellar second half and scored 5 without response, many of the goals were long range strikes as Wigmore showed that they can score from 30 yards but not 3.

Their will be tougher opponents in the coming weeks but a vital win which should boost confidence and the performance in the 2nd half was exceptional even if some of the goal celebrations were not.
