Wigmore Wanderers Dominate River FC In 3-0 Victory

Wigmore Wanderers FC welcomed River FC to Rainham on 4 May 2025 for a league home match that kicked off at 11:30 am. The Wanderers showcased their attacking prowess, securing a convincing 3-0 victory over their opponents, with standout performances from several players.

Wigmore Wanderers adopted a 3-4-3 formation, which allowed them to utilise their attacking talents effectively. Will Margetts took his position in goal, while a trio of defenders comprised Tom Spearink on the right, George Alp in the centre, and Harvey Edkins on the left. The midfield was anchored by Liam Apps and Dan Bailey centrally, with Ben Brewster on the right and Oli Dadson on the left, providing width and support to the forwards. Up front, Jack Downey and Ronnie Porter flanked striker James Lundie, who was tasked with leading the line. The substitutes for the match included George Hennessy, Charlie Ivey, Harry Smith, and Jack Colberson.

The match began with both teams probing for an early advantage, but it was the Wanderers who struck first. In the 16th minute, a tactical substitution saw George Hennessy replace James Lundie, while Charlie Ivey came on for Liam Apps, both changes aimed at enhancing the team's attacking options.

Despite River FC's attempts to regroup, they were unable to penetrate the solid Wanderers defence, marshalled expertly by Edkins.
