Two defeats from the last two games, lead to a few strong words at training on Wednesday from the managers.
So a reaction was desperately needed to get the season back on track, playing against a rejuvenated Anchorians team, Wigmore needed to be on their A game.
Within the first 10 minutes you could sense that Wigmore were up for the fight, throwing themselves into tackles, working hard for one another and maybe most importantly talking to each other.
Wigmore created enough chances to be out of sight before halt time but took the lead from a corner and lead at the half 1-0
The heavens opened and this actually helped Wigmore play football on a very bumpy pitch and surely it was only a matter of time before Wigmore got that all important second.
Then with 10 minutes to go the unthinkable happened, Wigmore switched off and the ball bounced of an Anchorians head to trickle into the net to level the score line.
Wigmore now at a crucial stage of their season, instead of wilting which they had done in previous matches, stood strong and forced the winner with only minutes to go.
Maybe the penny is finally dropping for this Wigmore team that have shown flashes throughout the season of what they are capable of but in the match they performed for 90 minutes.
Each player must take great confidence from this result and week on week keep improving to become a real force in this league.
