Away league match
Going into this game, I was extremely weary of the opposition, given they were above us in the league, and we only had 11 players available.
The game started off as bad as it could, with Trung scoring in the first minute. It looked like it might be a long game. And it took us until the 32nd minute to get our equaliser, through Logan. It was a much deserved goal, as we'd been playing brilliantly (after the first minute). But three minutes later, Tring were back in the lead. A clearance that could have been collected led to a throwin that was converted.
Half time, and it was 2-1 Thame, but it felt unfortunate to be behind. Not much to change at half time. Just wanted them to have more long shots and follow through to put pressure on their keeper. No subs available, so kept everything the same. Kacper was feeling a bit sick, so had to have Rory on standby, in case he needed to cover the goal.
Second half was all about the through ball. Logan quickly equalised for us, then completed his first hat-trick (of the game). And it continued throughout the second half, with Logan going on to score another hat-trick, and could have scored another on top of that.
John, who was expertly covering the left back position in the absence of Olek, played like he was left footed, not putting a foot wrong. 10 minutes before the end, we strengthened the defence, bringing Rory back to make us play 4-4-2. Lots of energy in midfield, playing much better than before. Ennis still running at full steam. Amani and Chaise also doing some late runs, even though they must have been tired having no subs.
Noah did a lot of holdup work just behind the box area, getting himself four assists, with Kath getting the other two.
Great game. Well done all.
