Match Report - FLACKWELL HEATH SCORPIONS - 08 Jan 2023

The Challenge Cup, round 1, and we were paired up against Flackwell Heath, a team we've lost to (at home in the league) and beaten (away in the league), and had a bit of bad blood in the last game, but thankfully we came away with the victory and through to the next round.

The first half started well, with three goals from Noah (1) and Logan (2). A good clean sheet from Akhil too. We were totally dominating and the game looked done already.

Second half started, and we scored within 10 seconds. At 4-0, we now look super confident. Some of the Flackwell Heath players are getting frustrated at each other, but to be fair to them, they started pushing, with nothing to lose, and got a goal back. However, 5 minutes later, we regain our four goal lead through a quality freekick, earned by a foul on Rory. Left hand side, and normally Logan would take from there, but was currently off the pitch as a sub. Up steps Noah who completes his hat-trick with a direct freekick above the keeper, who was off his line.

At 5-1, we're now so confident, it just looks like there can only be one outcome. Flackwell had other ideas. With nothing to lose, they push us back and score three goals in 12 minutes. Now, at 5-4 and only a couple of minutes to go, us playing 3-5-2, all we need to do is keep blasting the ball forward, but somehow the ball kept going of for a throw in to them. This was an anxious time, but we managed to hold off and see out the game.
