Home league match

Tiki Taka Dortmund welcomed Leigh Genesis Electrons to St James’s High School on 24 January 2026 for a lively league encounter that kicked off at 10:30am. Over the course of 70 minutes, Dortmund ran out convincing 7-3 winners in an entertaining contest marked by attacking flair and tactical adjustments.

Tiki Taka Dortmund lined up in a classic 4-3-3 formation, deploying Kamsy Anajemba in goal behind a back four of Nathen Platt at right back, Ayo Bamgboye and Lawrence Nwakamma as central defenders, and Nikita Velicka at left back. The midfield trio featured Noah Rule on the right, Zac Leach centrally, and Zac Humphries-Deveney on the left, tasked with both defensive duties and creative support. Up front, the front three consisted of Sonic Leung on the right wing, Favour Ajumobi leading the line as striker, and Yasin Mohammed on the left wing, expected to stretch the opposition and provide goal threat. The substitutes bench included Mustafa, Andrew-Franz Nkemka, Finley Barlow, Seka, and Archie Hunt.

Afew changes to the starting 11 today with Ayo stepping in at the back for Archie who was carrying a knock and Noah looking to make his mark on the game from midfield.

From the outset, Dortmund showed intent. Within two minutes, Zac Humphries-Deveney delivered a through ball pass that carved open the defence, setting up Yasin Mohammed for an early attempt which was well saved by the visitors’ goalkeeper. The pressure continued as Zac Leach followed with a shot of his own a minute later, also denied by the keeper. Defensively, Ayo Bamgboye was alert to intercept a dangerous move in the fourth minute, preventing a clear chance for Leigh Genesis Electrons.

The breakthrough came swiftly in the fifth minute when Noah Rule’s short pass found Favour Ajumobi inside the box, who clinically finished with his right foot to open the scoring. Favour then demonstrated his vision with a through ball pass two minutes later, although it did not lead to a chance on that occasion. Goalkeeper Kamsy was called into action at the ninth minute when he was quickly off his line to prevent the opposition from scoring in a one on one situation.

Lawrence Nwakamma’s timely tackle at the 13th minute thwarted another potential threat, maintaining Dortmund’s defensive solidity. On the attack, Yasin Mohammed again impressed with a through ball in the 16th minute, creating a chance that Favour narrowly missed with his lob going just over the bar. Yasin’s persistence paid off two minutes later when he created space for a shot that was well saved, but the pressure was relentless.

At the 19th minute mark Dortmund doubled there lead when Yasin’s cross found Sonic Leung, who expertly finished with his left foot following a well-worked team move. Just three minutes later, Kamsy’s long kick set up Favour for his second goal when he calmly finished inside the box. Leigh Genesis Electrons pulled one back in the 24th minute, injecting some urgency into the contest.

Shortly after, a flurry of substitutions reshaped Dortmund’s side: Mustafa replaced Noah Rule, Andrew-Franz Nkemka came on for Favour Ajumobi, Finley Barlow took over from Nikita Velicka, and Seka replaced Nathen Platt. Despite the changes, Dortmund’s momentum did not falter.

Dortmund quickly extended their lead again in the 29th minute, when Sonic broke free of their defense after another long kick by Kamsy, calmly slotting home with his right foot inside the box. Archie Hunt then replaced Ayo Bamgboye at the 30th minute. The half time whistle blew and Dortmund had a well deserved 4-1 lead going into the break.

The second half started with a series of substitutions as Noah Rule returned for Zac Leach, Nikita Velicka came on for Zac Humphries-Deveney, Nathen Platt replaced Yasin Mohammed, and Favour Ajumobi returned for Sonic Leung.

Leigh Genesis Electrons reduced the deficit again in the 40th minute, but Dortmund responded immediately. At 45 minutes, Andrew scored with a right-footed finish from 12 yards, after a nice one-two pass with Favour, capping a slick team move.

Leigh Genesis Electrons were awarded a penalty in the 51st minute, which they converted to narrow the gap further. However, Dortmund’s Andrew-Franz Nkemka continued to dominate, scoring a powerful right-footed strike from just inside the box in the 55th minute, again assisted by Favour, who was having a great game not just scoring goals but providing opportunities for his team mates.

An injury forced a substitution at 58 minutes as Ayo Bamgboye returned to the field for Archie Hunt who was still struggling with a knock. Anajemba remained alert in goal, making a crucial parry at 59 minutes to deny the visitors. Nkemka completed his hat-trick in the 60th minute with a right-footed finish from a cross by Ajumobi, underscoring his influence on the match.

Further substitutions followed immediately: Sonic Leung returned for Finley Barlow, Yasin Mohammed replaced Ajumobi, and Zac Humphries-Deveney came on for Mustafa. Zac Leach also re-entered for Nkemka at this stage. Bamgboye’s defensive prowess was again evident at 62 minutes with an interception that prevented a clear chance.

Anajemba’s goalkeeping heroics continued with a double save in the 64th minute, first a full-stretch save then blocking the follow up shot from close range. Leach’s had a long range attempt at 67 minutes but was saved by the keeper, Dortmund continued to be an attacking threat right up until the final whistle.

Andrew-Franz Nkemka was named player of the match after his outstanding hat-trick and overall commanding performance. But the award could have quite easily gone to a number of player's, which is testament to how well the team played today. Tiki Taka Dortmund’s 7-3 victory over Leigh Genesis Electrons was a thrilling display of attacking football, teamwork and tactical flexibility.

The boy's were set a challenge before the start of the match to give a better account of the football they want to play after last week's performance. They listened and showed today that they are more than capable of playing good passing football as well as taking advantage of Kamsy's big kicks. Well done boy's ????
