<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">The Colts were just simply stunning and Borrowash were not expecting it. Right from the start, they battled, tackled and competed for every ball.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Within four minutes, the Colts were in front. Vardy passed out to Lowe on the wing, who cut inside and with the crowd roaring him to shoot, hit a low drive that bounced just in front of the keeper and into the net.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Hunt scored on nine. Miskicking his first shot, he quickly spun around and poked the ball past the goalie. Minutes later he lashed one over the bar after neat play with the midfield and Welsh. Booth produced a superb save from the Borrowash keeper, with a looping header towards the top corner. The back four were magnificent in repelling most attacks and any that did get through, Bate caught or kicked away with ease. The midfield worked so hard with Vardy spreading the ball around after Hamisi’s strong battling play.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">At half time, Manager Albrighton urged the team to keep going. Within minutes of the restart, Mogford was unmarked on the edge of the six yard box but couldn’t finish the cross after excellent work by Lowe. Borrowash went down the other end and in a rear move, flashed a cross in front of the net which fortunately, nobody could get onto the end. And then the turning point came. The referee gave a penalty to the Colts, whether it was hand ball or pushing, we are not sure. Welsh thundered the ball home. Borrowash were broken.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Welsh scored his second, with some great running into the box and a low shot past the keeper.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Borrowash then got one back. Mogford was clearly fouled as he tried to get rid of the ball at the edge of the box but the striker turned the loose ball home, giving Bate no chance.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Borrowash were then awarded a penalty for pushing but the striker steered his shot wide of the post. Bate had it covered.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Welsh finally put the game to bed with a comedy goal. The keeper threw the ball out, it hit the centre half on the back of the head. Welsh ran onto the loose ball, the keeper tried to save it, then Welsh shielded the ball over the line before the keeper had two hands on it. The opposition laughed and mocked him but he had the last laugh, the ball clearly having crossed the line and the goal was given by the linesman. 5-1 game over.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">Langham played his best game this season and was just beaten to man of the match by Lowe. Booth and Carter immense at the back, Bowmer solid at right back and when replaced by Cook, he didn’t let the team down. Hardy got stronger as the game went on.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">However, it was a brilliant team performance against a fancied side from the 1st Division.
