Royal Phoenix FC travelled to Tudour Primary School on 23 November 2025 for a 10:00am kick-off in a friendly away fixture against Young Starlets FC. The match ended in a heavy 4-0 defeat for Royal Phoenix, as the hosts asserted their dominance throughout the 90 minutes. The referee Martin oversaw the game, which was played in front of 150 spectators.

Royal Phoenix lined up in a 4-2-1-3 formation, aiming to balance defensive solidity with attacking flair. Dorcas took her place in goal, protected by a back four consisting of Gloria Damaris at right back, Faith Kamam and Fatuma Njira as central defenders, and Umazi on the left flank. In midfield, Fatuma Madimpolz and Tinah Oloo operated as the double pivot, tasked with breaking up play and distributing the ball forward. Ahead of them, Eunice Cheupe played as the attacking midfielder, expected to link midfield and attack. The front three featured Mariam Kidoti on the right wing, Suzanne leading the line as striker, and Mercy Wairimu on the left wing, all charged with creating and converting chances. No substitutes were named for Royal Phoenix in this fixture.

The match began with Young Starlets FC quickly imposing themselves on the game. Their first goal came in the 15th minute when a long-range strike from outside the box, expertly struck with the right foot, beat Dorcas in goal. This early setback set the tone for Royal Phoenix, who struggled to regain control.

As the first half progressed, Young Starlets continued to press and create opportunities. Their second goal arrived in the 37th minute, a well-worked team move finished with a precise right-footed shot. Royal Phoenix’s defensive line, marshalled by Kamam and Njira, found it difficult to contain the fluid attacking play of the hosts.

The half-time whistle blew with Young Starlets comfortably 2-0 ahead, leaving Royal Phoenix with plenty to ponder during the break.

The second half saw no respite for Royal Phoenix as Young Starlets extended their lead in the 56th minute. Another spectacular effort from outside the box, described as a screamer, was rifled in with the right foot, leaving Dorcas with no chance. The goal further dented Royal Phoenix’s hopes of mounting a comeback.

Despite their best efforts to respond, Royal Phoenix were undone once more in the 77th minute. The fourth goal was a stunning scissors kick from outside the box, again struck with the right foot, which capped off a dominant display by Young Starlets.

Throughout the match, Royal Phoenix’s midfield duo of Madimpolz and Oloo struggled to impose themselves, while the attacking trio found limited service and opportunities against a resolute Young Starlets defence. Defensively, the back four and goalkeeper Dorcas were tested repeatedly and ultimately overwhelmed by the quality and precision of the opposition’s finishing.

In summary, Young Starlets FC delivered a commanding performance at Tudour Primary School, securing a 4-0 victory in this friendly encounter. Royal Phoenix will look to regroup and learn from this experience as they prepare for their next challenge.
