Away friendly match

RIT Dubai travelled to the American University of Dubai on 6 October 2025 for an 8:30pm kick-off in a lively friendly encounter against AUD. The 11-aside match ended in a thrilling 5-3 victory for RIT Dubai after 90 minutes of pulsating football under the watchful eye of referee Yazan Shbib.

RIT Dubai lined up in a 3-5-2 formation, deploying a back three of Mohsin Ayaz on the right, Mohamed Chahine centrally, and Aws Dashash on the left. Their midfield trio consisted of Artur Farhutdinov on the right wing, Nariman Samani, Mohamed Hazza, and Mohamed Haitam Yousfi centrally, with Mohammad AlSayyed providing width on the left. Upfront, Masoud Barahoey and Hazza Yateem led the line as right and left forwards respectively. This setup was designed to provide defensive solidity through the three central defenders while allowing the wing-backs and wide midfielders to push forward and support the two strikers. The substitutes available were Saeed Alhashemi, Mohamed Boudrai, Khalifa Albedwawi, Omar Remawi, Samir Keshk, Omar Taalab, and Anas Bukdida.

The match burst into life early on as Hazza Yateem tested the AUD goalkeeper with a shot saved in the fourth minute. However, RIT Dubai’s momentum was halted by an offside call against Nariman Samani just a minute later. Barahoey then came agonisingly close to opening the scoring when his effort struck the post in the eighth minute. The breakthrough came swiftly for the home side, though, as a defensive mistake allowed AUD to take the lead in the ninth minute with a right-footed finish.

RIT Dubai responded immediately with Mohamed Haitam Yousfi’s attempt saved in the tenth minute. The game’s intensity was underlined by a foul from Nariman Samani a minute later, which earned him a yellow card for unsporting behaviour. Hazza Yateem remained a constant threat, firing wide in the 13th minute and then over the bar in the 16th. Yet it was from the penalty spot that Yateem finally levelled matters, coolly slotting home with his right foot in the 16th minute.

Yateem’s influence continued as he hit the post again two minutes later, and Aws Dashash saw his effort saved in the same minute. The RIT Dubai forward was involved in a foul in the 22nd minute but remained undeterred, forcing another save shortly after. The physicality of the match was evident with further fouls from Mohsin Ayaz in the 25th minute and Mohamed Haitam Yousfi in the 37th.

At the half-hour mark, Yousfi’s shot was saved once more before RIT Dubai made a double substitution in the 31st minute, bringing on Saeed Alhashemi and Mohamed Boudrai for Barahoey and AlSayyed respectively. The changes paid immediate dividends as Yateem scored again, this time assisted by Boudrai’s short pass, firing a close-range left-footed finish. Two minutes later, Boudrai himself found the net from a goalmouth scramble, assisted by a cross from Artur Farhutdinov.

Further tactical tweaks followed with Khalifa Albedwawi and Omar Remawi replacing Mohsin Ayaz and Artur Farhutdinov in the 35th minute. Yateem completed his hat-trick moments later, again from close range after a long pass from Boudrai. The prolific forward was then substituted off for Samir Keshk in the 36th minute. The closing stages of the first half saw a series of fouls from both sides, but Yesa Aamir’s safe catch in the 40th minute helped maintain RIT Dubai’s lead until the break.

At half-time, a goalkeeper change saw Omar Taalab replace Yesa Aamir. Saeed Alhashemi’s high attempt just before the interval was a sign of RIT Dubai’s continued attacking intent. The second half began with more fouls, including one from Nariman Samani in the 46th minute. Attempts from Samir Keshk and Mohamed Boudrai were both saved in the 48th minute, while Omar Remawi committed a foul a minute later.

RIT Dubai’s defensive reshuffle saw Mohsin Ayaz return to the right defender role in the 52nd minute, replacing Aws Dashash. The match remained physical with fouls from Samir Keshk in the 55th minute and a set-piece goal for AUD at the same time, narrowing the deficit with a close-range right-footed finish. Mohamed Haitam Yousfi was substituted off for Mohammad AlSayyed in the 56th minute.

An offside call against Mohsin Ayaz came in the 58th minute before Mohamed Boudrai was replaced by Anas Bukdida in the 60th. RIT Dubai extended their lead again in the 62nd minute when Saeed Alhashemi struck a long-range right-footed shot from outside the box, assisted by Omar Remawi’s short pass. The game’s physicality continued with fouls from Alhashemi and a yellow card for Mohamed Hazza for a bad tackle in the 63rd minute. Mohsin Ayaz also received a yellow card for persistent infringements two minutes later.

Further substitutions saw Masoud Barahoey and Hazza Yateem return to the pitch in place of Nariman Samani and Samir Keshk respectively in the 69th minute. Khalifa Albedwawi and Hazza Yateem both committed fouls shortly after, with Omar Taalab conceding a penalty for a late tackle in the 73rd minute, which AUD converted to keep their hopes alive.

Artur Farhutdinov came back on for Omar Remawi in the 79th minute as Yateem’s high attempt followed. Anas Bukdida was cautioned for fouling twice in quick succession at the 80th and 82nd minutes. The final substitutions came in the 85th minute with Samir Keshk and Mohamed Boudrai replacing Barahoey and Mohsin Ayaz, and Nariman Samani returning for Saeed Alhashemi.

Masoud Barahoey’s late effort was saved in the 87th minute, while Anas Bukdida committed further fouls in the closing stages, including one in injury time. Mohamed Chahine also fouled in the dying moments, but RIT Dubai held firm to secure a 5-3 victory.

Mohamed Hazza was named player of the match for his influential role in midfield, combining defensive work with creative spark throughout the contest. This entertaining friendly showcased RIT Dubai’s attacking prowess and resilience on the road against a spirited AUD side.
