In a commanding display, Pro Shottas U13 secured a resounding 4-1 victory against Pinelands U13 in a league match held at the Pine Resource Center on 12 October 2024. The match kicked off at 11:20 am, and the Pro Shottas showcased their attacking prowess throughout the encounter.
Pro Shottas lined up in a 4-2-1-3 formation, which allowed them to dominate both the midfield and the flanks. Christopher Palmer took his position as the goalkeeper, while a solid back four comprised Nikkeil Freeman on the right, Ben Hutton and Zayne Galt in central defence, and Elijah Jacob on the left. The midfield was anchored by Raiden Lee and Samuel Campion, providing both defensive cover and support for the attack. Kaleb Catwell operated as the attacking midfielder, tasked with linking play and creating chances for the front three. C'jae Nichols and Aiden Knight occupied the right and left forward positions respectively, with Emanuel Espinosa Alvarez leading the line as the striker.
The substitutes for Pro Shottas included Kegun Henry, Mathias Theinhardt, Kevio Bellamy, Dimitri Applewaithe, and Dylan Boucaud, who would later play crucial roles in the match.
The scoring opened in the 19th minute when C'jae Nichols found the back of the net, converting a short pass from Kaleb Catwell inside the box with his right foot. This early goal set the tone for Pro Shottas, who continued to press forward with intent.
Just ten minutes later, in the 29th minute, Emanuel Espinosa Alvarez doubled the lead, heading home another assist from the ever-influential Kaleb Catwell, this time from a cross. The Pro Shottas were in complete control, and their dominance was further emphasised when Espinosa Alvarez scored again shortly after the half-time whistle, tapping in from close range following a corner taken by Elijah Jacob in the 31st minute.
As the teams returned for the second half, Pinelands managed to pull one back in the 43rd minute, but it was too little, too late for the home side. Pro Shottas responded with a flurry of substitutions at the start of the second half, bringing on Kegun Henry, Mathias Theinhardt, and Kevio Bellamy to maintain their momentum.
Emanuel Espinosa Alvarez, who had been a constant threat, completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute, capitalising on a defensive mistake from Pinelands to score with his right foot. This goal further solidified Pro Shottas' commanding lead.
In the same minute, Espinosa Alvarez was substituted off for Dimitri Applewaithe, while Samuel Campion made way for Dylan Boucaud, ensuring fresh legs were introduced to maintain the team's intensity.
The match concluded with Pro Shottas U13 celebrating a well-deserved victory, with Kaleb Catwell and Emanuel Espinosa Alvarez earning accolades for their outstanding performances. The result not only reflects the team's skill and strategy but also sets a positive tone for their upcoming fixtures in the league.
