Match Report - Petersfield TOWN PHANTOMS WHITE U13 - 25 Mar 2017

What an incredible performance today to end our league campaign.

First half we were playing up the hill. Petersfield as expected kept

the pressure on us and we had to be at best to prevent any clear

opportunities. As petersfield pressed high, so opportunities were

there for phantoms on the counter. Some great persistence from James

led to phantoms scoring first. Phantoms then looked more positive and

had more of the ball and more play in the oppo half. Clever play on

edge of from jc to entice the foul and win a penalty which he

despatched calmly. 2-0 up, change of formation back to a 4-4-2 to try

and protect the fullbacks. In an attacking position of a phantoms

corner, petersfield nearly scored, breaking so quickly, only a save

from RE prevented what looked like a definite goal.

Half time chat was about seeing the game out. We expected petersfield

to come out strong and didn't they just. We were being swamped, with

petersfield having a ton of possession but they rarely got through our

defensive screens. There were a couple of scarey moments, with HD

and OK both clearing off the line, but we have the meanest defence

in the league.

Phantoms even managed to score a third, unfortunately ruled out for a

marginal foul on the keeper. As time ticked on, phantoms played the

clock well and there would be no repeat of the beacon hill game.
