Away league match

On 7 December 2025, Lads Club Juniors U12 travelled to SBS Stadium to face Ludlow Town FC U12 Knights in a league away match kicking off at 11:00am. The 9-a-side contest lasted 60 minutes plus injury time, culminating in a commanding 13-1 victory for Lads Club Juniors. From the outset, the Juniors stamped their authority on the game in what was a thoroughly one-sided encounter.

Lads Club Juniors lined up in a 3-4-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back with Charlie Clueit on the right, Archie Rigby centrally, and Charlie Arnold on the left. Their midfield quartet featured Musa Touray on the right wing, Zayn Prosser and Flynn Gething occupying central midfield roles, and Finn Jones on the left flank. Oscar Jones spearheaded the attack as the lone striker. This setup was designed to provide defensive solidity through the back three, midfield control via the four across the middle, and a focal point in attack to capitalise on chances created. The substitutes named were Thomi Scoular, Flyn Watkins and Joseph Lee, ready to inject fresh legs as the match progressed. Louis Howells and Lucas Price were the only two missing from the line up today.

The game burst into life immediately as Finn Jones opened the scoring inside the first minute, neatly finishing inside the box after a through ball from Flynn Gething. Just three minutes later, Oscar Jones doubled the lead with a left-footed strike from outside the box, assisted by Finn Jones’ through ball pass. The Juniors continued to press, with Oscar Jones testing the opposition goalkeeper again at six minutes, though this effort was well saved.

Oscar Jones remained heavily involved, providing a short pass at eight minutes that created a clear chance, while Flynn Gething’s attempt shortly after flew high over the bar. The Juniors’ attacking prowess was relentless; at ten minutes, Oscar Jones scored again inside the box, this time assisted by Zayn Prosser’s short pass and finished in the far corner with his left foot. Within 12 minutes of game time Oscar Jones completed his hat-trick with a close-range right-footed finish as he rounded the keeper, again set up by Zayn Prosser’s precise short pass.

Ludlow Town FC Knights managed to pull one back at 13 minutes with a right-footed strike inside the box, but this did little to stem the tide. Finn Jones came agonisingly close to scoring once more at 14 minutes, hitting the post. Shortly after, a flurry of substitutions began: Thomi Scoular replaced Oscar Jones, Flyn Watkins came on for Zayn Prosser, and Joseph Lee took over from Finn Jones between the 15th and 16th minutes.

Joseph Lee quickly made an impact, scoring with a right-footed finish inside the box at 16 minutes. He continued to threaten, though his shot at 18 minutes forced a save. Goalkeeper Chase Bracegirdle was called into action at 21 minutes, making a crucial intervention. Thomi Scoular’s attempt at 22 minutes was also saved, and Joseph Lee struck the post at 24 minutes. However, Lee’s creativity shone through at 26 minutes with a short pass that created another chance, followed by a saved effort from Flyn Watkins.

The Juniors’ dominance was further emphasised in a rapid succession of goals. At 27 minutes, Thomi Scoular headed home a close-range finish from a corner delivered by Joseph Lee. Moments later, Flyn Watkins unleashed a long-range strike from the edge of the box, curling it in with his right foot. Joseph Lee then scored again at 28 minutes, finishing inside the box with a well placed right-footed shot after a short pass from Thomi Scoular. The half closed with the Juniors firmly in control at 30 minutes.

The second half saw immediate tactical changes with Flynn Gething replacing Charlie Clueit but taking the role of Keeper, Zayn Prosser returning for Musa Touray, and Oscar Jones coming back on for Charlie Arnold at 31 minutes. The positions were mixed up with Oscar and Thomi standing alongside Archie Rigby on defence. Finn Jones delivered a long pass at 33 minutes that created a chance, and goalkeeper Flyn Gething made a vital save shortly after. Archie Rigby hit the post at 37 minutes but Joseph Lee was able to score again at 40 minutes by scoring from a corner taken by Zayn Prosser.

Zayn Prosser then found the net himself at 41 minutes, finishing inside the box after a short pass from Finn Jones. Substitutions continued with Charlie Arnold replacing Flyn Watkins and Musa Touray coming on for Bracegirdle at 43 minutes. Zayn Prosser scored once more at 43 minutes with a close-range tap-in, assisted by Joseph Lee. Joseph Lee was caught offside at 45 minutes due to a mistimed run, and Charlie Clueit returned to the field replacing Oscar Jones at the same time.

The Juniors’ scoring spree continued immediately after half time as Musa Touray netted from outside the box with a right-footed strike following a long pass from the Keeper Flynn Gething at 46 minutes, the crowd erupted with cheers. Musa Touray’s subsequent attempt at 48 minutes was saved, while Joseph Lee provided a slide rule key pass to create another opportunity. Substitutions at 50 minutes saw Oscar Jones and Chase Bracegirdle reintroduced, replacing Zayn Prosser and Joseph Lee respectively.

Flyn Watkins replaced Finn Jones at 51 minutes and quickly combined with Archie Rigby, who delivered a long pass at 52 minutes that led to Rigby scoring inside the box with a left-footed finish from close range. Zayn Prosser then returned to the pitch for Archie Rigby at 53 minutes. Oscar Jones hit the post again at 54 minutes, but Flynn Gething produced a point-blank reaction save to keep the ball out of the net.

Joseph Lee came back on for Thomi Scoular at 55 minutes. A contentious moment arose at 58 minutes when Oscar Jones was flagged offside believed to be incorrectly, and Joseph Lee’s wide attempt followed shortly after. The match wound down with an attempt from Zayn Prosser saved at 60 minutes, but the outcome was never in doubt.

Throughout the match, the Lads Club Juniors U12 displayed clinical finishing, intelligent movement, and tactical discipline. Goalkeeper Chase Bracegirdle was outstanding, marshaling the defence and making crucial saves. Defenders Charlie Clueit, Archie Rigby, and Charlie Arnold provided a solid foundation, while the midfield quartet of Musa Touray, Zayn Prosser, Flynn Gething, and Finn Jones controlled the tempo and created numerous chances. Upfront, Oscar Jones and the substitutes Thomi Scoular, Flyn Watkins, and Joseph Lee contributed significantly to the goal haul.

This comprehensive 13-1 victory at SBS Stadium emphatically underlines Lads Club Juniors U12’s attacking prowess and defensive resilience as they continue their league campaign with confidence.
