Home league match

Kenn Valleys 5th game of the season saw them in action at home to Locking Park.
With Kenn Valley looking for there first win of the season the division 2 champions would be looking to start better than in recent matches. However it was to be the same form as in recent matches with Valley going 1 behind in the first 15 minutes. A well timed through ball ricocheting into the path of the Locking path followed by an excellent finish into the bottom corner. Valley soon rallied an equaliser when a well timed ball from Ben Stanley saw Ricky Smith break through & dink the ball past the oncoming goalkeeper. Valley had now settled into the game with some excellent football down the right hand side from Zach Michell linking up with Dan Andrews to create good opportunities. Valley soon found themselves behind again after a flukes cross found its way in to the far right hand corner of Stu Wilsons net.
Half Time - KVFC 1 - 2 Locking Park
Valley started the better of the two teams in the better half with some good chances. A well played ball into Ricky Smith saw him go down under the goalkeepers challange only for the ref to wave away claims of a penalty. It was looking to be Lockings day though when a break away saw Locking Park striker hit a shot from 25 yards bobbling past Wilsons hand into the far corner. Valley would still give it one more push with a lifeline given to them by the referee. Ben Stanley went over under 2 oncoming defenders, the referee pointing straight to the spot. Stanley taking the honours of his first goal of the season into the bottom right corner.
The last 10 minutes was to be all Valley. Craig Clothiers cross into the box saw Stanley fire a right footed shot off the post just minutes from the end of the game. But there was to be one last chance. An excellent ball into the box by Adam Stephens found its way to Stu Pedder 1-on-1 with the keeper. The ball hit straight at him & cleared by the defence.
In the end Locking taking all 3 points & Valley still looking for there first win of the season. Some positives to take from the game for Valley who will look to bounce back in there next game.
Full Time - KVFC 2 - 3 Locking Park
A-Y-S cleaning services MOTM - Ricky Smith with special mention to Craig Clothier & Zach Michell who both had brilliant games
KVFC starting line up - Stu Wilson, Pat King, Louis Vowles, Ollie Beesley (c), Zach Michell, Nath Preddy, Craig Clothier, Ryan Mogg, Dan Andrews, Ben Stanley, Ricky Smith.
Subs - Stu Williams, Adam Stephens & Stu Pedder
