Away league match

KVFC were away to Sporting Weston this week in what was an important game for both. With both teams currently lying in mid table & within 3 points from each other it was all to play for.
Sporting started the game well pinning Valley back & the pressure was to prevail as a well played ball in behind the valley defense put the striker through on goal, tucking it past Stu Wilson as he couldn't quite get his hands to the ball. 1 - 0 to Sporting.
It was Sporting who would be the team to score next aswell as 5 minutes later from a KVFC corner the ball was well cleared & on the break away, a couple of missed tackles & Sporting were in on goal. Well finished past Wilson & it was 2-0 inside 15 minutes.
Valley kept on pushing and a good freekick from Ben Stanley gave a great chance to Andy Vowles from 6 yards out. The ball headed just over the bar.
It was to be another blow for Valley as on the 25th minute mark a corner was whipped into the box & Wilson unable to keep a firm grasp on the ball resulted in an easy header on the line for Sporting. 25 minutes gone Sporting 3 - 0 KVFC.
Valley managed to get a goal back on the 35th minute when Ben Stanley driving at defenders from a short corner was hacked at in the box & the ref blew up for a Penalty. Stanley tucking the ball away from 12 yards just under the keepers body.
It was almost the ideal game changer from Valley when the 40th minute a well clipped ball into the box by Stanley was nodded towards goal by Ricky Smith. Well saved by the keeper but falling to Dan Andrews on the line for a tap in. However ruled for offside, a close decision that could have changed the game.
It wasn't to be Valley's day as on the 43rd minute a sloppy freekick on the outside of the box was well struck. Saved by Wilson but followed up by the Sporting defender for a tap in.
Half Time - Sporting - 4 - 1 KVFC
The second half had started with a good tempo & with Valley trying there hardest to push on & try to get back in the game. Sporting however kept up there press from the first half & on the 60th minute it was a freekick into the box flicked on which caught out both defender & goal keeper resulting in a goal for Sporting.
Sporting were not finished there either when 15 minutes later a well timed through ball was again well finished by the Sporting striker. This game was turning into a real hammering for valley.
It could have been 7 but for some brilliant defending on the line by Zach Michell. The ball whipped into the box & cleared from the line. Also a second attempt cleared off the Line by Michell. The resulting chance sent over the bar by the Sporting striker.
Valley did manage to get themselves another goal though on the 80th minute when a head on from Ricky Smith fell kindly to Ben Stanley who tucked it though the keepers legs making the game 6 - 2.
This seemed to spur Valley on when only 5 minutes later a well played ball into the box fell kindly to Ryan Mogg 8 yards out. Mogg smashing the ball through the crowd & into the back of the net. A little more reasonable from Valley at 6 - 3.
There was to be one more chance on the 89th minute with a break away down the right hand side from Dan Scribbins. A fantastic cut back fell perfectly to Stanley who tucked the ball into the top right corner making it 6 - 4.
Although another heavy defeat for Valley they will take the positives from the game & go again next time.
A-Y-S Cleaning Service MOTM - Ben Stanley with special mentions to Ryan Mogg & Zach Michell who had good solid games.
