KVFC (NEW TEAM) vs KVFC (OLD BOYS)

KVFC New had a friendly fixture for charity against the KVFC Old.

It started as a very tight affair with both teams not giving a yard, The KVFC New having the majority of possesion but playing to many long balls to trouble the Old Boys defence. With not many chances in the opening exchanges it was down to a great strike from Dan Andrews on the edge of the area finding the top corner to open the scoring & the game. Not long after a scramble in the box saw Stu Williams have a couple of blocked shots but finally saw the ball sail into the corner for a KVFC New 2 - 0 Lead.

The game opened up in the second half with both teams attacking when they has the chance but it was to be KVFC New who scored the third. A good bit of football in the centre of the park saw the ball swept left into Mogg's feet. He picked out a left footed shot which thundered into the top of the net leaving goal keeper Lee Brown stranded. The Forth goal then came soon after the Third with a good bit of football from Josh Davies who played the ball into Stanley to pass the ball into the corner with ease. Valley New had really got a grasp on the game now with Beesley & Wedlake controlling the ball from the back. Wing backs Pat King & Louis Vowles were allowed to get forward as much as they could.

The Fifth goal was soon upon Valley New with a strike hitting the post from Nick Aspey only to find Ben Stanley tuck the ball away for his Second of the afternoon. A few changes from Manager Alan Puddy saw Alex Werren & Daniel Scribbins return to the team after a long period away. Both players made a good impact with Werren firing a good shot that was unlucky to only find the keepers arms.

KVFC Old soon managed to get themselves a goal with a defensive error in the box giving a good chance to the striker who didnt need a second invitation to tuck the ball away. The score was 5-1 with 30 minutes to play. It was not long before the Old boys managed to find another goal after a scramble in the box & an excellent first save from Wilson only to see it followed up by the striker.

With some tired legs on the pitch KVFC New went up a gear again & really finished off the game. Another excellent strike from Dan Andrews on the edge of the area saw Brown again stranded. Andrews having a fantastic game from midfield. There was one last goal from KVFC with a quick counter attack saw 4 on 1 & Aspey finding Mogg through on goal. Unselfishly giving the ball to Dan Andrews to complete his hatrick & get MOTM in the process.

An excellent sceptical for Kenn Valley Football Club raising £250.00 for a great charity & seeing over 100 people come to watch. A big thankyou to both manager Mark Smith & Alan Puddy for organising teams & the event in general.
