After Valley's biggest defeat of the season last week they were back with a bang this week with a 4-1 Victory over Portishead A.

With Portishead coming off the back of a 6-0 victory against Sporting Weston & also current Division 1 champions Valley knew another performance like against Hutton would be disatorous.

Valley started again the slower of the two teams which seemed to be a common theme this season. Within the first couple of minutes Valley gave away both early freekicks & corners & were lucky with a couple of good chances falling to Portishead not to be behind. It was not long before Portishead managed to score after a long ball over the top caught out the Valley defence with the Portishead striker keeping a cool head & tucking the ball passed Stu Wilson.

Valley soon started there spirited comeback with a great break through the middle & a ball played wide to Josh Davies 20 yards out the box. Davies took the shot early which seemingly caught the Portishead Keeper off guard & nestled into the bottom corner.

It was neck & neck at half time with both teams giving there all in the first half making for a very exciting game.

The start of the second half saw Valley pinned in for the first 20 minutes but they were very hard to break down with the back 4 stopping all Portishead attacks. Stu Wilson making some important saves to prevent any goals.

Around 65 minutes Valley managed to take the lead. Ben Stanley making a break away from the defenders & squaring it into the path of Craig Clothier who hit the ball sweet. The keeper not able to keep the effort out.

Portishead were pushing hard for an equaliser now but to no avail with Valley looking to break every opportuity they had. Ben Stanley leading the line was able to break away again with an excellent pass from Ollie Beesley. Stanley brought down in the box & the ref pointed to the spot. The Penalty was tucked nicely into the corner by Stanley who surely put Valley out of site now at 3 - 1.

In the last 5 minutes Portishead remained to push hard with some excellent defending from the Valley defence they were again able to break through Stanley who again managed to square the ball into Andrews who sent the Keeper the wrong way with a brilliant finish to top off a fantastic Valley Performance.
