<p>On what should have been a meaningless game, Heddon again showed what an absolute class team they are by beating a Stamfordham team, with some excellent ball playing players, 11-1, taking their scoring to 100 for the season. Even the craic on the side-lines was class too!
<p>Taking advantage of a lack of pressure off the ball from Stam and a curiously high defsinsive line, Heddon exploited the Stam defence with some lovely passing moves and hitting the ball forward at the righ time throughout the game.
<p>Whilst the ball work was impressive, the manner in which we went about our play off the ball was an absolute joy. Working as a team, led by the lads in midfield, we worked hard off the ball forcing very good Stam players to make bad decisions. A lot of our goals resulted from not only our class on the ball but our desire to A) win in back and B) get forward ahead of the Stam midfielders on the break. This stands us in great stead moving forward to the final and semi-final, no one can cope with us when we work that hard off the ball at this level.
<p>Being able to rest players with a few niggling injuries and giving lads full run outs was mint as well, particular praise to Frank the tank up top who put in a great shift (on the ball anyway! ) up top, holding the ball up well for the runners to play off him.
<p>I would have hated picking man of the match yesterday with Murta, Ramma (he is angrier and better than Janmaat!) Woody, Ross, Appaz, Frank and Sean all very playing well! Defence played well too, solid as ever with a great save from Wadds and he also had another shot covered that just went over the bar.
<p>Having realised I’ve just named all of the team that could of been man of the match, I’ll end the report there! This is why I don’t do it! :-)
<p>Big game Tuesday against an improved Hayden bridge team, 2 more wins to win every game in the league and a win will set us up nicely for the final on Sunday!
