Home league match

Heddon go back top with a convincing win

Playing against 9 men Hexham hearts, who set up well, Heddon strolled to an 11-0 win without getting out of 1st gear. Keeping the ball well and making Hearts work hard, Heddon looked like the were going to score with every attack, only a quality goalkeeping performance, not making the most of some chances and a few sitters missed prevented this from being more than 11.

Tough fixtures coming up with Barrasford in the cup followed by the Minor cup Quater final, followed by Barrasford again in the league then Haltwhistle Jubes in the league - all before Christmas.

I can't remember all the goals, but a brief synopsis of every players below:

Bull: Nowt to do apart from one cracking save. Distribution spot on.

Ramma: Heddon's cafu, up and down the wing all day. Will never score for Heddon again after the chances missed today! Set up 3

Porter: Mr angry worked his socks off as usual and was quality on the ball as he always is! Solid defensively.

Scoobs: Absolute handful on corners, Hearts couldn’t live with him. Great play out from the back - Hazlerigg Victory said Hello! Goal and an assist in 1 half!

Scott: In for a late Joe Slade, nice fixture to ease his way back in from fitness. Quality on the ball as always.

Appaz: Oozes class on the ball, ran the show all game from holding midfield role - should have scored but tried to tee up Frank instead! Set up 2.

Flem: 2 goals! 2! TWO! Industrious as ever off the ball quality on it. Part one of the face of Heddon st Andrews.

Ross: Dominated in midfield first half despite being worse for wear, centre half second then gave way to give subs a run out.

Sean: Right back in form, scored 2 but oddly no assists given he done his man every time! Could have scored more but link up play with Elliott first have was excellent.

Murta: Quiet and grouchy (Hungover?) opening 3 minutes paved the way to a superb performance. Stretched the play, great set plays , scored 2 set up 2. Part 2 of the face of Heddon St Andrews

Elliott: Played up front first half lead the line superbly – link up play with Sean looked class. Back in midfield for second and was a good as ever. Scored 3, set up 3. Unanimous man of the match given by the Hearts players.

Subs:

Frank: Lead the line excellently. A bit rusty which is to be expected but beat his men for fun. Unlucky not to score or have an assist as looked dangerous the whole game

Tom A: Went in at centre half and was very solid. Excellent distribution with the ball and nice shape defensively. Pushing hard for a starting position.

Joe Slade: About as wrecked as i have ever seen him! Couldn’t tell when he came on, solid at the back - love the marauding runs forward!
