Away league match
Hayden Panthers U15 travelled to Haberdashers’ Aske’s Crayford to face Kingsdale Orange in a league away fixture on the morning of 30 November 2025, kicking off promptly at 9:30am. The Panthers produced a stunning attacking display to run out comfortable 9-1 winners in this 80-minute encounter, leaving Kingsdale Orange with little answer to their relentless pressure.
Hayden Panthers lined up in a 4-5-1 formation, with a solid defensive back four comprising Josh Quinn at right back, central defenders Josh Jolly and Reiley Webb, and Tyler Cracknell on the left. This defensive unit was tasked with maintaining a disciplined shape and providing a platform for the midfield to control the game. The midfield five featured Archie Bristo on the right wing, Ryan Cracknell, Ollie Challis, and Sid Reed occupying central midfield roles, and Alfie Severn’s operating on the left flank. Their responsibilities included both creating chances and supporting the lone striker, Darcey Illing, who was expected to lead the line and convert opportunities. Louie Ford guarded the goal, providing assurance between the sticks. No substitutes were named for this fixture.
The match burst into life immediately as Alfie Severn’s opened the scoring inside the first minute, setting the tone for what was to become a goal-fest. The left midfielder’s early strike gave the Panthers an instant advantage and put Kingsdale Orange on the back foot. Just seven minutes later, Ollie Challis doubled the lead, demonstrating the midfield’s attacking prowess. Challis was again on target four minutes after that, completing a quickfire double and extending the lead to 3-0.
Kingsdale Orange’s woes deepened when Sid Reed added a fourth goal in the 13th minute, capitalising on the Panthers’ midfield dominance. The visitors were relentless, and the scoring continued as Archie Bristo, operating from the right midfield, found the net in the 24th minute. Moments later, striker Darcey Illing finally got on the scoresheet, rounding off a blistering first-half performance with a goal of his own. By half-time, Hayden Panthers had established a commanding 6-0 lead, leaving Kingsdale Orange searching for answers.
The second half saw no let-up from the Panthers, with Alfie Severn’s once again finding the net just three minutes after the restart to make it 7-0. Archie Bristo continued his fine form by scoring his second goal of the match in the 67th minute, further emphasising the visitors’ dominance. Kingsdale Orange managed to pull a consolation goal back in the 74th minute, breaking the Panthers’ clean sheet but doing little to stem the tide.
Josh Jolly, one of the central defenders, capped off the scoring in the 78th minute with a rare goal, sealing a comprehensive 9-1 victory for Hayden Panthers. His contribution at the back was vital throughout the match, and his goal was a fitting reward for a commanding defensive display.
Josh Jolly was deservedly named Player of the Match for his outstanding defensive work and crucial goal, which helped underline the Panthers’ superiority. The 4-5-1 system functioned to perfection, with midfielders and defenders alike contributing to an emphatic win on the road. This result will surely boost Hayden Panthers’ confidence as they continue their league campaign.
