Home league match

Today we welcomed AFC Chelmsley to Hampton, who were looking to avenge a 4-2 loss in the reverse fixture.

Missing 4 lads today for various reasons, so the squad was thin but we had more than enough quality to put in a good performance.

The lads didn’t disappoint, battling early and carving out a few chances, notably from some well-worked short corners and superb crossing from Rushy, but unable to capitalise.

With Harrison making light work of any strikes on goal, his kicking was also on-point with both Rushy and Omar looking to get in behind. The first goal would come from a throw-in that was flicked on by Oscar to Rushy, who was weaving his way across the box trying to get the shot off, but Rayyan took matters into his own hands and slotted into the corner, 1-0.

The game was quite scrappy which was right up Rayyans street, with some absolutely phenomenal tackles and workrate, bullying players twice his size. The backline also stood strong and we went in at HT 1-0.

Chelmsley were still in this, but for all of their work, particularly their number 27 and the Jack look-a-like, the defensive unit were keen on another shut-out.

chances would come for Hampton, notable ones from Ollie who struck over the bar, Rushy who was denied a couple of times by the keeper, and the game remained 1-0 until an injection of pace took the game away from Chelmsley in a short period of time.

Firstly, Omar latching on to Rayyans pass and slotting a shot into the fa corner which bobbled in front of the keeper and he couldn’t keep it out, 2-0.

Then a great kick from Harrison was missed by the defence and Rushy was in, making no mistake this time slotting past the keeper, 3-0,

Our 4th came soon after, with another through ball from Rayyan sending Rushy away for a very similar goal to his first, 4-0.

Hampton would see the game out and keep that second successive, and impressive, clean sheet.

Again some super performances all over the pitch, with Harrison tremendous in goal and the defensive line in front of him doing brilliantly.

Rayyan had a superb game in the middle, notching his first of the season and bagging 2 assists.

Omar was also a constant threat and keeps up his goal scoring form with another one to make 7 for the season.

Today’s MOTM though was RUSHY, who bagged 2 goals and an assist and was a constant threat, more impressively though his work-rate on the defensive side was excellent and he wouldn’t be denied MOTM this week, well done Rushy and well done lads!!

The golden boot is nicely poised with Rushy and Omar both on 7 goals so far!
